My sewing projects have taken a back burner for the past week (which is not good in my quest to become a sewing goddess). Indigo LaRue is feeling a little neglected, but between work and my studies I’ve been a little overwhelmed to take a break. That creative spark is gnawing at me. I’ve been dreaming of just spending endless hours listening to the gentle hum of Indigo LaRue as we cross off project after project. No excuse this weekend – I need to feed this urge. I’m indulging.
Let me take the time to add that I did have a little nudge to treat myself. If one must sew, do it in style. One third of the TBF trifecta, Lizzie (aka Gidget), has the pleasure of being my muse and steering me back to my groove. She mentioned (showed off) her amazing labels and I was hooked. My new labels for my creations came in the mail and they are precious. How could I deny my very creative juices the opportunity to brand all of my special projects with these beauties?!? I’m not. I can’t. I won’t.
Just a shameless plug, because 1) I’m not above self-promotion and 2) I have no fear of talking about how fabulous my friends are. Go and check out Gidget and Guido – she’s my soul sister. Don’t let her appearance fool you, if I had to have one person have my back in a fight I’d pick her. She may be small, but she’s scrappy and quite the comic. Whenever I am in need of some sewing assistance, I know I can contact her without fail.
I digress –
This weekend is for the creator in me. I’m embracing it and going all in. The projects this weekend range from finishing piecing together the cupcake mini quilt (only 9 more blocks to go for my sweet friend), starting the progress of my niece’s quilt top, and finishing up my craft exchange projects. If all goes according to plan, I am going to try and squeeze a trip in to grab batting and backing for both quilts.
Pictures to follow on my flickr account.
**Sidenote: TBF Trifecta is a special bond. I am slowly working on the page that will explain the bond of our relationship.
