29 Before 29: Make it Happen!

Hello and welcome to 2015 vodka lovers!

I hope this wonderful year is treating you well and your resolutions realizations are in full swing. Just after my 28th birthday, I sat down and started jotting down a few ideas I would like to tackle before my 29th birthday. These days you have to look ahead, because before you know it I’ll be 30 and wondering where my precious 20-odd years went.

My list consists of a range of activities that can be fun, some challenging, and positive in my realization of being a BETTER ME.

  1. Take a bartending class
  2. Go camping
  3. Recreate a Beyonce video
  4. Place a trip overseas
  5. Research my dad’s family tree IN PROGRESS
  6. Go hiking 4x
  7. Bake at least once a month (and share on the blog)
  8. Create 3 new pieces of mixed media art
  9. Join Toastmaster or a Young Professionals Group
  10. Rewatch Sex and the City
  11. Host a themed party
  12. Do 10 random acts of kindness
  13. Finish 3 quilts
  14. Do a fun styled photo shoot
  15. Write letters to 3 people who influenced me
  16. Participate in a murder mystery
  17. Train and participate in Tough Mudder and/or run my second half marathon
  18. Write a celebrity
  19. Visit Seattle
  20. Lose weight
  21. Enjoy a spa day with friends
  22. Create an alter ego
  23. Make plans to end friend deployment with TBF
  24. Learn to sew clothing
  25. Do more thrift shopping
  26. Travel to New Orleans
  27. Learn to play guitar
  28. Build a headboard for Master Bedroom
  29. Collect 5 4 Pyrex Dishes

You’re probably wondering why I’m sharing this here. It’s your responsibility as my safe place to hold me accountable for this list. Before #Sevitember 2015 arrives, I would love to have this list completed. Please ask how I’m doing and express your undying love for the 29 activities I’ve shared above. You want to know all about them and how much fun I’m having sharing my life with you.

Here’s to 29!

I am looking at either Toastmasters or a Dallas Young Professionals group. I have looked into other YP groups, but haven’t found one that fits my personality well enough. Let me know if you go through Toastmasters, I would be interested in checking it out.

I love your list!!! Every single one of your goals/aspirations is totally attainable. I say take lots of pictures, acquire mementos/keepsakes, then blog about each one, and then make a scrapbook all about it once they’re all completed. Or put all the pictures, keepsakes, etc in a box, send it to me and I’ll put a scrapbook together for you. It’ll become a tangible way to look back at this year and say look at all the really cool stuff I accomplished!!

I may also use a couple of your goals for myself. I totally want to do a Tough Mudder/Warrior Dash type thing AND another half marathon! (she says as she pops another pretzel M&M into her mouth and reaches for a second slice of pizza)

Also, for your alter-ego name how about Blogyonce? 😉

You’ve GOT this girl. Can’t wait to see all the amazing things you do this year!

I love you Kyrra! I was looking for attainable goals, so I tried to be reasonable on picking things that would keep my interest.

And you are allowed to snack as much as you want, you are eating for two!
