If you aren’t too behind on the times, David and I are moving. With all the freedom of being able to do any and everything that I could ever imagine in my own home, I took to one of my favorite time wasters – Pinterest.
You there, yeah you! Stop giving me that glaring stare like you haven’t wasted a good two hours pinning those unreal picture perfect living rooms, kitchens, and bathrooms seen in model homes.
I can’t even deny it. The proof is in the Twitter Feed….
Hours on end, I have been throwing myself into Pinterest for inspiration and glorious ideas. It finally dawned on me last night that I am slowly going insane with my pinning and I have reasons why Pinterest is slowing ruining my life….
There is so much white on pinterest, it kills me. How unrealistic is white everything?!? Do people not own pets or kids! I get nervous with a glass of red wine over my couch. Without fail, I keep pinning all white everywhere without realizing the consequences of muddy pawprints everywhere.
Between my job, being a wife, attempting to have a social life, and everything else – where am I suppose to find the time to complete some of these elaborate DIY projects?!? Really?!?! REALLY?!?! You literally have to dedicate hours on end to accomplishing elaborate dream projects that you can post with pride.
Please do not hold David and I to those standards as we attempt any Pinterest projects.
Is it just me or does it seem like every focal point of a DIY project for home renovations revolve around a dresser or table? Check out your local thrift stores or garage sales for cheap pieces to repurpose! I have read that line it makes me sick. It falls back into when do I have time to basically move into my local thrift store or stalk my neighbors for all their old dressers/tables/frames/etc.
I’ve already added dates to my calendar to check out local thrift stores in the next few weeks. FML. Hook, line, sinker.
My poor home board only has 257 pins (281, if you include my kitchen remodel board). The boards that most of my pins are coming from have well over 1000. What am I doing with my life?!? How am I suppose to remodel a home if I haven’t pinned nearly enough? Don’t worry guys, I’m stepping up my game which translates to I’ll be pinning at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Nothing is safe. NOTHING. As I have been packing our house up and clearing things off, ideas keep going off like fireworks. Clear off a dresser and I envision a new paint of coat! Move a table into a corner and I am ready to sew a new table cloth for it! Craigslist has become my new best friend in bargaining people down to secure little pieces to fill the additional space we’ll have. Cheap frames from ikea are a must to build the perfect gallery walls I am dreaming of.
The countdown is getting real as more and more of the house comes together. The new fence is up, the flooring will be done this week, and plans are in place for the kitchen remodel. A huge part of me is stressed out and nervous, but I know that it’ll all be worth it in the end.
Make sure you share this on Facebook and Pinterest – I know that the struggle is real and I’m not the only one suffering from Pinterest ruining their life.
