Ladies, we are movers and shakers. If you’re like me, you are always on the go from work, gym, events, happy hours, and so much more. You are constantly relying on adrenaline and strategic planning to make it through each with the sheer hope that maybe a day of reprieve is coming your way. I get this, I can relate. Which is why I also know how important it is to make it through each week with the 5 essentials that keep me going day in and day out.
Whether it’s your smart phone calendar or a paper planner, being able to have a glance at your day and week is key. Being able to take a snapshot of upcoming events and tracking significant milestones (i.e. workouts per week) will make you feel accountable for your time. Our time is precious and we want to be sure that we are getting the very most out of it. Allot yourself efficiently and effectively to be the best version of you that you can be. Remember to allow yourself some down time for self-care!
Small suggestion, be sure that if you do utilize an electronic and paper calendar to cross reference your schedule. I’m slowly getting better with managing our family calendar on my iPhone in conjunction with my Erin Condren Life Planner.
Ideas can come at the most random moments, so its best to be prepared. Carrying around a small sketch book has become so handy for those spur of the moment notes. Whether your randomly remember what you need to grab from the grocery store or like me, develop a great blog idea – being able to jot them down for later is important. I’m a big fan of the May Designs notebook. Small enough to move from handbag to handbag with ease, while still being incredibly stylish.
A good pen will change your life! Trust me on this one, I’m a pen hoarder (ask my husband). For the last few years, I’ve been a huge fan of Le Pen. The thin strokes, longevity, and fun colors of these fancy pens are incredibly nice and professional at the same time. They come in your standard black and blue for professional settings, but the massive array of colors that you can use for your personal use at any time.
Reusable Water Bottle
Adulthood is no joke people and we are constantly reminded to hydrate as we get older. A reusable water bottle is an encouraging way to stay on top of the goal of 8 glasses of water a day. From Not Vodka, to Swell, and so many more – you easily have hydration motivation at the tip of your hands. Invest in a water bottle that you know you will use every day and start with baby steps.
Sturdy Everyday Bag
With everything we carry around, you need a sturdy everyday bag that will get you from day to night with ease. You know what is most comfortable for you and your lifestyle. I know that I’m 5’10” and need a big bag to get me through the day. From my notebook, planner, oversized wallet, and numerous tipsy bags of goodies – I need something that will accommodate all of these items without the overwhelming feeling. I typically veer to tote bags and larger styled shoulder bags. Find what accommodates your lifestyle and invest in a bag that you know will last.
