It’s Sunday and you should be at brunch.
I’m serious, brunch makes the world go around and helps you regain the strength to survive another work week knowing that next weekend you get to do it all again.
If you know me, like really know me – I love brunch. If I get a chance, I’m going to be drowning my end of the weekend sorrows in a bloody mary at any of Dallas’ brunch hotspots.
What if you can’t make it out for brunch and need a quick hangover fix at home to get you through the day? You’re going to need the right vodka and I’ve got your covered!
Balls Vodka proudly proclaims that its a premium quality vodka with a sense of fun. David and I decided to give it a shot – more like 3, but we’ll get to that later.
When you have a quality vodka, are at home on a Sunday doing those last minute things you need to get done, and can’t make it out to brunch….you have to get ballsy and drink at home! This is where the Ballsy Mary comes into play.
What you’ll need:
2 oz Balls Vodka (I’m a little heavy handed, so I added about 4 oz)
6 oz Tomato Juice
2 tbsp Olive Oil
1/2 tsp grated HorseRadish
1/2 tsp Sriracha
1 tbsp Lemon Juice
Dash of Pepper
Lemon Wedge and Celery Stalk
Before I started to mix all ingredients together, I did take a quick (a solid swing) of Balls Vodka to give you a thorough review of what my opinion of it.
I was sent the 80 Proof, 1 Liter bottle of Balls Vodka and it was smooth. Seeing as this vodka has only been around since 2011, I am surprised that it has made its way on my radar by now. The bottle is fun and I’m all about girls being ballsy. The product look has a fun and lighthearted vibe. Upon doing a little more research, I discovered that Balls Vodka is gluten-free and distilled four times. It has a nice little after taste that lingered, but its a vodka that could easily be served over ice, as a shot, or mixed in a cocktail. A quality vodka should be smooth enough to where you are comfortable taking a shot of it, Balls Vodka fits the bill. After taking our first taste of it, David and I were ready to proceed with our bloody marys.
We prepped everything and tossed everything into our cocktail shaker. Instead of a traditional glass, we opted for mason jars because it doesn’t get any more Texan than that.
I’m definitely a huge fan of Balls Vodka and its taste. The flavor was perfect for the kick that you are looking for in any cocktail that you would be interested in pairing with a quality vodka. The bloody marys were strong and definitely did the job for getting over those weekend blues.
Balls Vodka was gracious enough to provide a sample of their product. Opinions and the choice to review were 100% my own.
