The second weekend of October and it was jam-packed. Once again, I managed to book myself solid for the weekend with homework, surprises, and a sporting event. This seems to be a trend in my so-called wild life.
I finished that ridiculous paper and discussion board for week 1 of Family Violence. Talk about a difficult class – family violence makes me want to cringe. I can happily report that I managed to secure an A in the starting week! Between all of this homework, I did score some quality family and drinking time – which is always a win in my book.
My lovely mother celebrated her 58th birthday and to top the week off my little brother surprised her by coming home. My mother favors him because he is the only boy (understandable since he had to put up with three sisters), but as his favorite sister – I do not mind. I was fortunate enough for him to come by my house before the big reveal and spend some quality time together. Growing up, we were always closer to each other and highly competitive – not much has changed. It was nice getting to be in on the surprise for Momma Keva.
WareBear and I took the family out to dinner, which was interesting because wherever we go my brother garners quite a few stares. He’s 6’11” and people do not have the common courtesy to just let us eat in peace. I didn’t care, because my goal for the evening was to get Momma Keva drunk! The peach sangria from Carrabba’s was a hit and we had a nice little family dinner. My mother and father both seemed to be in a very happy place with all the family love surrounding them.
We ended the weekend at the Cowboys v. Redskins game at Jerry World with The Starks of Winterfell. We had a blast at the game with awesome company (you can’t beat The Starks of Winterfell – try me), but learned a tough lesson with the standing room only at Jerry World. So quick little note to Jerry:
Dear Mr. Jones,
I get it, Jerry World is your pride and joy. You have to pay for it somehow and I understand that. I totally understand that you have to make your money somewhere. Since this is my 3rd game this year and I’ve had a different perspective from each – I am going to be honest with you. Those “standing room only, violators will be ejected” seats are crap. If I wanted to watch the game like that I would go to a free bar with cheap beer and every sporting event currently happening at the moment on big screen TVs. Clearly, nothing as big as your monstrosity that you have in Jerry World, but you get the idea.
Bad move Jerry, bad move. I ejected myself to the comfort of my living room at half time.
There, I feel so much better. It was a good weekend for the Ware Clan and our respective football teams. Winning teams equal a happy couple! I can’t say that same for my fantasy football team….we’ll touch on that with tomorrow’s update.
P.S. If any new readers have reached this point without ejecting themselves from Ware is the Vodka?!? Welcome! Hello! Hey girl hey! I am thrilled that so many of you liked the Facebook page and followed on Twitter. I hope you stick around and enjoy the show!
