Dallasites love a good festival and this city does not disappoint with the amount of them happening every month. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of beer, margaritas, tacos, and music – but the one festival that has made its way into my heart is quickly approaching this upcoming weekend.
The Dallas Chocolate Festival is once again taking over the Addison Conference and Theatre Center September 9 -11 for a jam-packed 3 day extravaganza.
Believe me when I say, you don’t want to miss out on all the exciting festival plans happening this year. Friday evening kicks off the festival with a special adults only movie premiere of Bean to Bar: A Film About Artisan Chocolate (with a few special cameos of local Dallas chocolatiers). Bring your sweet tooth because you’ll be well taken care of with drinks, chocolate samples, and a special chocolate lover’s concession stand to indulge on while viewing the film.
On Saturday, come and get #chocolatewasted with chocolate from vendors coming from all over Texas and the world. You’ll be able to sample hand crafted chocolates, watch live demos (highly recommend any demos with Gianni Santin of Haute Sweets Patisserie), and of course shop for all of your favorite chocolates! The Addison Conference Centre has plenty of parking and you won’t have to worry about going far because a few local food trucks will be there to provide you and the family with lunch. With vendors such as Haute Sweets Patisserie, Wackym’s Kitchen, Eileen’s Pralines, Dr. Sue’s Chocolate, and Yelibelly Chocolate – you don’t want to miss out on this celebrating all the sweet chocolate goodness. Make a day and treat yourself!
If that isn’t enough and you want to take your chocolatier skills to the next level, Sunday is solely dedicated to honing your crafts with the Dallas Chocolate Workshops. Three specialized workshops are planned to help your understand and appreciate the craft of being an expert chocolatier. You can sign up for one or all with these hands-on workshops!
Need further proof that you don’t want to miss out on this year’s event, check out what I thought of last year’s festival.
Let’s be real here, chocolate makes everything better. Don’t waste any time, get your tickets today here (they won’t be sold at the event, so buy them early) and use CHOCOLATEVODKA (not valid for workshops) for a sweet little treat!
