Happy Valentine’s Day Vodka Lovers!
Love is in the air and I’m suffering with a sinus infection, so no sweet aromas of roses for yours truly. I’m not much for a fan for the traditional romantic dinner, but I do love a good excuse to spend some quality time with my favorite guy. If you’re local and looking for last minute ideas for you and your sweetie, check out 5 fun ways to celebrate the day of love together in Dallas.
1. Klyde Warren Park – Hearts in the Park 2015
With this spring like weather, do yourself a favor and hit up the park. Klyde Warren Park is having a huge celebration with family friendly events from 12:00PM to 4:00PM and then music and dancing well into the evening from 6:30PM to 9:30PM. You and your love one can spend the afternoon out in the park soaking up the rays, grabbing some lunch or an early dinner at the food trucks, and finishing out the night twirling under the stars for a unique Valentine’s Day. For more details, check out the Klyde Warren Park website.
2. Perot Museum – The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes
The Perot Museum has a soft spot in my heart for many reasons, but right now this is the one place in Dallas that I need for everyone to visit. This state of the art museum is the current home to The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes. The best part about this is that it opens today to the public. So grab your Valentine and go solve the crime! Check out the website for more details.
3. Joy Macarons + Bishop Arts
Looking for a sweet treat and an afternoon exploring one of Dallas’ most eclectic neighborhoods, then this is the stop for you! Honestly, Joy Macarons is a hidden gem just past the heart of the Bishop Arts District and I encourage you to venture to it. These sweet confections melt in your mouth and will give you the perfect sugar high to shop the boutiques and explore the art galleries. If macarons aren’t your cup of tea, go ahead and check out Emporium Pies!
4. Kate Weiser Chocolates or The Cake Bar + Trinity Groves
Can you tell that I have a sweet tooth? Trinity Groves is an up and coming gem in West Dallas with everything to offer for the perfect Valentine’s Day. Take your lover to Kate Weiser Chocolates or The Cake Bar – I’ve had both and you can’t go wrong. Kate’s decadent and rich chocolates melt in your mouth, so just buy yourself a box to take home for later. As for the Cake Bar, they are a family run business that pulls you in with a hefty slice of the moistest cake. You won’t regret it! Oh and if you are looking for that romantic dinner, you will definitely be able to accommodate that request here.
5. The Vintage House + Downtown Carrollton
Last, but certainly not least – another soft spot and location that is near and dear to my heart. Downtown Carrollton is blossoming into quite the spot for Dallasites to trek from the busy city to the quaint edges of suburbia. They currently have a Twisted Root Burger, Babe’s Chicken, and Agave Azul for you and your lover to tantalize your taste buds for a delicious and low key meal. Explore the shops and makes sure you stop by Blooms Candy & Soda Pop Shop for a sweet treat (always thinking of the sweet things in life). Please make sure you round this trip off with a stop by The Vintage House to pick your love up a sweet gift. They have Kendra Scott, Vera Bradley, Alex & Ani, and a new unique line by Alli K Design (exclusively sold ONLY at The Vintage House); your ladies will be in heaven as soon as she realizes she can get all of the hottest items under one roof. Oh and don’t worry guys, my lovely friends at The Vintage House have quite a few things for you as well. Spoil yourselves!
No excuse to stay at home, go out and enjoy this lovely day with your lover! Here’s to love and a damn good time in Dallas!
