Dear Frank Ocean, We Need To Talk

Dear Frank Ocean,

My emotions cannot deal with these games you are playing with my heart.

Channel Orange is still on heavy rotation since 2012. You hear me, still on rotation.

The one thing that’s been holding me together for all of these years is your collaboration with Beyonce on Superpower. So powerful, haunting, and captivating in the best ways.

Imagine my excitement when a supposed “live feed” started streaming on your website. That was extremely short lived as reports slowly started to trickle out that it was a loop.

a video loop.
of the same thing.
over and over.

Is this even real life anymore?

I couldn’t even get excited because the track record that we have together isn’t the greatest right now. You’ve been a tease and I honestly can’t deal with the wishy washy relationship our hands have been dealt over the last few years.

Here we are Friday, August 5 and I’m really hoping that you won’t let me down again. By the time I am actually a functioning adult this afternoon, I better be listening to Boys Don’t Cry.

It’s been a long three years waiting for this album and I’m not sure I can even function if this is another sham. Don’t let me down Frank. Don’t let me down or you’ll catch a girl crying (and wallowing in her misery until the next broken promise).

Channel Ocean? I’m not believing any announcements about a new Frank Ocean. I’ll believe it when I hear it.

Clearly typing late at night talking about an absent Frank Ocean and Channel Orange album was not a great idea! Thanks for heads up. Nobody is believing the hype of Frank. I’m going to need him to personally deliver his next album to my house.
