Goal Setting

Defying Expectations in 2016

4 days into 2016 people. 4 days!

After a serious blog planning sessions, I set some pretty lofty goals that I would like to reach this year. In order to reach those goals, it’s going to require me to become even more transparent than I already am. I have no problems with being transparent, in fact I prefer it. So I sat down and came up with the expectations I plan on defying in 2016 on this blog.

What to Expect- New

I’m planning on revisiting my roots. First and foremost, I consider myself a writer.

Ever since a creative writing class with one of the greatest teachers I ever encountered in school, I’ve had a knack for storytelling. For sharing tales of love, humor, fear, encouragement, and much more in a variety of different manners. Expect a new series every Thursday by the name of Glitter Tales: Short Stories for the Millennial. I’ll discuss more of what this is all about later this week, along with the first short story.

Another expectation is weekly stream of consciousness. Whether it’s about a famous celebrity, social or political issues, or just something I need to get off my chest, I’m opening this blog up to my thoughts. I’m also going to be sharing a little DIY autobiography project on the blog that tells my life story (which should be interesting).

Fashion will still be here and I’m hoping to share at least 2-4 different outfits a month. My closet is continuously expanding and I believe in sharing affordable fashion for all body types. Oh and Diversity Chic is still here and I can’t wait to see where this year takes us. I’m also going to try and share some of my must have finds from my favorite stores.

In addition to all of these expectations, you’ll still see my DIY projects and a new piece I’m putting together called At Home with Sevi. Basically a virtual tour of my home and different projects I’m embarking on or how I decorate for the Texas seasons.

When to Expect it- New

Expect 2-3 blog posts a week, a bi-weekly newsletter, and social media reminders of new all posts. Make sure that you are following me on all social media channels, I’m constantly connected and sharing sneak peeks of content to come.

Haven’t subscribed for the bi-weekly emails yet? No worries, you can subscribe to the newsletter and all my social media channels on the right.

What I need from you
Yes, you! There are 3 things I am looking for from each and every person that comes across this blog.
1. Honesty
2. Support
3. Understanding that this is as much as space for you, as it is for me!
Let’s visit all of these individually.
Honesty || I’m being honest and transparent with each and everything I share on this blog. I only ask that you do that same. Comment and let me know your opinion on any thing (good or bad). We’re all adults here and I am sure we are more than capable of having a civilized conversation. Also, if you find something hilarious – I love a good laugh together!
Support || If you come across anything on this blog that will benefit someone else, share it! Use the quick share buttons under the post and spread the word. This isn’t mandatory, but it’s much appreciated. Also, leave a comment and let me know that you are here. I love to interact with all the people that come through and read this little corner of the internet.
Understanding that this is as much as space for you, as it is for me! || Mi casa es su casa! Let’s cultivate fun, healthy relationships where we can talk about anything. I want to laugh with you all, share my most embarrassing stories, and celebrate together. Share your triumphs, heart aches, or the latest book you just read. Ask questions about a home decor project, you never know who else may be reading that could help you out!
Now that I’ve laid it all out there, I really hope that you stick around and grow with me. I look forward to sharing my story, passions, and life with you all. Cheers to 2016!
