Diversity Chic: Boho Chic

Welcome to the March edition of Diversity Chic! We are so excited to be back with our 3rd installment of this fun collaboration and thrilled to feature this month’s looks.

If you are new to the movement, learn more about it below:

Diversity Chic is a collaboration of Dallas bloggers showcasing current fashion trends on a variety of skin tones, hair colors, body types and heights. Each month we will feature a new trend tailored to our personalities and style.

Our focus is to explore the world of fashion in its unique, diverse, and stylish manner – one trend at a time.

Once again, we all approached this month’s trend from different angles. It’s interesting to see how we each interpret the trend. Let’s not waste any time!

Let’s discuss my look –

My biggest challenge this month was doing everything in my power not to pull out my fringe vest to top off this entire outfit. Instead, I wanted to focus on the chic aspect of this outfit. My entire outfit was actually centered around these American Eagle sandals that I found for $9.99 at Marshall’s. They were the only size 11 shoe on the clearance shelf and I didn’t waste any time. From there, it made it easier to decipher what I could narrow down from my existing closet to match along with the trend. Florals just seems to be a serene connection to the whole bohemian chic, so this comfortable tank was a no brainer. The details on the tank straps add a very stylish twist to your regular run of the mill tank. I could easily wear this shirt from hanging out in the backyard with jeans to a night out on the town. With so many colors in the tank, I decided to keep the bottoms muted with a taupe pencil skirt. This is one of the best purchases that I’ve ever made from Forever 21+. I’ve got wide hips – so for a women like me who shouldn’t be shopping at F21, the plus size section has been a steal. I can find fun youthful clothing that actually fits! Once I had the entire outfit together, I was ready to visit the the arboretum or a festival.

About the Trend

Bohemian chic is a trend that never really seems to go away. With so many variations, you can’t help but incorporate it into our wardrobe. From florals, peasant tops, kimonos, and bright colors – you can easily see why this trend is so enticing. The bohemian and hippie style can be subtly incorporated into any outfit. Even without my fringe vest, I felt as if this trend was definitely one that I see within my daily outfits. A lot of my clothing tends to gravitate towards this trend in one way or another. I’m a huge fan of oversized tops, bright colors, and florals – all of which dominate a majority of my wardrobe.

For myself, I felt very comfortable tackling this month’s installment.  Each of my blogger besties incorporated this theme with their own style and it worked very well.
