Diversity Chic: Green with Envy

We’re back and I can’t believe we are nearly at the end of March. Are you still feeling green from your St. Patrick’s Day weekend? It wasn’t too exciting here, we partied it up at the house putting together some nursery items.

This month has flown by and I know that I’ve been excited to link up for another fun month of Diversity Chic. First off, a huge thank you to everyone who joined us last month. I enjoyed seeing all of the lovely Valentine’s Day looks. If you’re new to this whole movement, let me give you a quick rundown of what Diversity Chic is all about:

Diversity Chic is a collaboration of Dallas bloggers showcasing current fashion trends on a variety of skin tones, hair colors, body types, and heights. Each month we will feature a new trend tailored to our personalities and style. Our focus is to explore the world of fashion in its unique, diverse, and stylish manner – one trend at a time.

With St. Patrick’s Day falling in March and spring in full swing here in Dallas, the trend was pretty easy to pick. Shades of green was a nice way to ring in the beautiful weather we are enjoying in Dallas. Full disclosure, the day we shot these photos it was really cold outside!

About the Look – Not Your Normal Green, Showing up in Teal!

Dressing the bump is becoming quite the feat on its own. I scoured my closet looking for any and everything green that I owned. Then I had to go through the process of seeing what actually fit my growing midsection. Luckily, one of my sweet friends passed along some maternity clothes that she received for another friend of ours during their respective pregnancy. Lo and behold, this teal ruffled top was in the pile.

I’m slowly learning how to accept the bump, so I added a cream belt at the top of it. There is no hiding that there is a baby and I didn’t want to sacrifice my curves. Just because I’m pregnant doesn’t mean I have to look like I am wearing a burlap sack.

With such a busy top, I paired with my only pair of skinny jeans that fit and a lightweight cargo jacket. To polish off the look I added my Cleobella clutch wallet and cheetah print kitten pumps for some added style and comfort. Perfect for any spring day!

About the Trend – Shades of Green

Every month and with every trend, I love how we each bring our own personality and flair to this project. Once again, we all showed up in vastly different shades and each rocked our looks.

For myself, I’m a firm believer that spring doesn’t call for bright pastels. In my case, I don’t think they look the greatest on me. It was nice to have a shade of green that worked well with the color scheme that I gravitate towards in my life.
