Diversity Chic: Plaidplosion

This 8th installment of Diversity Chic has been the bane of my existence. Between the Twin Cities 3 Day and time at the lake, I crammed to get this completed in time. Seeing as I have been obsessed with these outfits, I didn’t want to be the odd man out with a late post.

If you are new to the movement, learn more about it below:

Diversity Chic is a collaboration of Dallas bloggers showcasing current fashion trends on a variety of skin tones, hair colors, body types and heights. Each month we will feature a new trend tailored to our personalities and style.

Our focus is to explore the world of fashion in its unique, diverse, and stylish manner – one trend at a time.

This definitely has to be one of my favorite Diversity Chic installments to date and have been dying to share these fun pictures with you all.

For the outfit I wanted to pull together, I needed a plaid/gingham skirt to pull the whole look together. Good thing we have a revolving closet of fashion staples, because Stephanie pulled out this perfect gingham midi skirt that made this outfit. It was exactly what I needed to pair with this ridiculously fun top!

A few weeks ago, Christina from Fashion and Frills was a doll in this sheer flamingo tank. I could not get over how perfect it looked and the smile it kept bringing to my face. I didn’t hesitate purchasing this fun top. The fit is perfect and it’s ridiculously lightweight.

What I love about this entire outfit is that the pink hues of the flamingos are complemented perfectly with the black and white gingham of the midi skirt. To keep the outfit upbeat, I pulled out my white sneakers, but this outfit can easily be paired with black or pink sandals or even cute flats.

About the Trend

Plaid/gingham is so timeless and has a way with looking amazing on any and everybody. It looks great on guys and ladies during any season. Since plaid/gingham comes in a hue of different colors, you are bound to find the perfect look to fit whatever you are trying to convey. After wearing this outfit, I’ve made the decision to really add this pattern into my style.

Curious about the other looks….be sure to check out the other fabulous ladies of Diversity Chic!
