Hey stylish friends! We’re back and I’m larger than ever these days. Maybe it’s just me but I’ll be honest I’ve had to get pretty strategic with dressing this baby bump. With the Texas weather gracing up with some rainy days, it was only appropriate that Diversity Chic took a shot at it.
If you’re new to this whole movement, let me give you a quick rundown of what Diversity Chic is all about:
Diversity Chic is a collaboration of Dallas bloggers showcasing current fashion trends on a variety of skin tones, hair colors, body types, and heights. Each month we will feature a new trend tailored to our personalities and style. Our focus is to explore the world of fashion in its unique, diverse, and stylish manner – one trend at a time.
We have had a few rainy days here in April and dressing without sacrificing my style has been key.
About the Look – Rainy Days in Style
I’m in the home stretch of pregnancy and dressing the bump has evolved to more maternity clothes. This neutral number is perfect for those rainy work days when I can’t imagine putting on pants. The shirred sides have plenty of give for my growing belly and it’s so comfortable.
Normally during the spring, I would pair this look with a cute pair of flats. With rain, I opt for a low cut bootie to keep my feet nice and dry. No rainy day look is complete, unless you have a stylish umbrella to get you through the day. My Vera Bradley bubble umbrella keeps me dry on the way in and out of the office. One of my favorite components of this umbrella is that it comes down so low and really blocks the rain from hitting anything you may be carrying on you at the time.
About the Trend – Rainy Day Looks for Everyone
I mention this with every Diversity Chic, but it is the core of what makes this project so beautiful – we all have completely different styles. Each of our rainy day looks really encompasses are daily style and where we each are in our lives.
Whether you’re looking for a weekend look, running errands, going into the office, or out with friends – you have a variety of different stylish rain friendly looks. Rainy days shouldn’t stop you from looking your best. Also, rainy days shouldn’t make you feel like you need to get all kinds of dressed up. It’s whatever works for you and your personal style.
