It’s here, the first Diversity Chic of 2017 and our first time hosting a link up! This is so exciting and I can’t contain myself. Diversity Chic brings me so much joy and I’m thrilled to be sharing it with you all.

If you’re new to this whole movement, let me give you a quick rundown of what Diversity Chic is all about:

Diversity Chic is a collaboration of Dallas bloggers showcasing current fashion trends on a variety of skin tones, hair colors, body types and heights. Each month we will feature a new trend tailored to our personalities and style.

Our focus is to explore the world of fashion in its unique, diverse, and stylish manner – one trend at a time.

We selected Valentine’s Day looks as our first trend to partner up with you amazing people on. This lovely day is right around the corner and I’m sure your feeds are immersed in all the pink and red you can handle. It’s an easy trend to shop and dress for, but you definitely have to make it your own.

Luckily for this go around we were able to partner with 7 Charming Sisters to select the perfect jewelry to jazz up our looks for this Valentine’s Day. As a firm believer that any accessory will get you far in life, I know I was beyond thrilled to select a piece to complete my look. Read below to hear more about my selection.

About the Look

This Valentine’s Day, I’ll be pushing 24 weeks pregnant and there is no hiding this baby bump. With this being just on the cusp of hitting the third trimester of pregnancy and all I can think about is comfort. My looks these days are more of a comfort factor to accommodate the growing midsection. David and I have plans to keep it pretty low key and do a simple dinner. When it came to what I plan on wearing out and about with my favorite guy, I knew that I would toss the heels out the window.

Instead of going for a red or pink, I went for a nice gray pleated midi dress to accentuate the midsection in a subtle manner. Since the heels were out, I opted to pair it with my black pointed ballet flats and a jean jacket. I was seeking a sophisticated laid back look and this definitely hit it out of the park.

When it came to selecting my jewelry, 7 Charming Sisters utilizes an awesome What’s Your Style quiz to help with selecting the perfect piece to match your personality. Naturally, I found out that I am definitely a perfect match for Donalda the Social Butterfly. The quiz is scary accurate because I love being the center of attention and flashy. Browsing Donalda’s collection was perfect because it matched very well with my style and flair for pieces that stand out in the best way.

After carefully narrowing it down to a few pieces, I opted to polish off my gray pleated midi dress with the Women Rule the World bracelet. The white stone paired perfectly with my dress and the gold added a little extra pop to stand out. I couldn’t be more happy with what I’m planning on wearing out and about with my favorite guy next week!

About the Trend

What I absolutely love is that we aren’t your average ladies when it comes to Valentine’s Day looks. I have nothing against pink and red. In fact, I wear tons of red any chance I get. My favorite pair of shoes are these red flats I purchased from Target years ago and plan on wearing them into the ground. I love that we all took risks and branched out from your traditional Valentine’s Day wear.

Don’t feel like because it’s Valentine’s Day you need to pull out the same festive colors and your tallest heels to impress your loved one. Stick with what you love and makes your happy. Style it to your preference, then rock the heck out of it. Sometimes changing these up helps you discover just how much more you can do with your wardrobe.

Most importantly, don’t pass on the accessories! Accessories easily can take your wardrobe to the next level if you find the perfect piece to make your personality. 7 Charming Sisters has the formula written out for you simply with just a quick quiz.

I love how you still look festive without being in your face with themed colors. It’s such a refreshing chance of pace from other Valentine’s Day looks!
