Lately, our household has been a little prickly friendly with all the cactus and succulent decor floating around. As soon as we found out that we were having a baby, I knew this meant I would get to redecorate the spare bedroom. My creative juices instantly started flowing! Before we even found out the gender of our little one, I had a vision of the perfect space.
CACTI. SUCCULENTS. A light and airy feel of my new dream room. Well people, it’s coming along beautifully. We are putting the touches on the room to make it really feel like a welcoming place for the wee lil unicorn.
As the vision started to come to fruition, I felt like there was something missing. Browsing Pinterest, all of the cute cactus and succulent items that popped into my search feed were inevitable. Most of these items were pinned directly from Etsy and upon seeing the prices I couldn’t justice a lot of them.
The few DIY projects that I found, just didn’t stand out to me with the flair I wanted to add into our baby girl’s room. I also don’t believe in hand sewing when I have a nifty machine at my house waiting for maximum usage. So I took some time to brainstorm what I wanted the cactus to look like. Went through my fabric stash to pick up which fabrics would work best in her room, then got to work.
Here are a few nursery snapshots to hold you over and a fun DIY! Stick around after the jump for some additional details on this project!
