Done & Done!

Talk about whirlwind life! I can honestly say that I am very surprised that I was able to get these finished. Screen+shot+2013-05-22+at+8.29.21+PMIf you can even remember, I was doing a little project from my good ol’ friend Gidget to dedicate quilts to Moore, Oklahoma.

Oklahoma Bound!

During my project planning, while going through my fabric stashes – an idea came to me. Why don’t I just make one of these for my mother in law for her birthday?!? So not only is some loving person in Okie going to get a quilt, so is WareBear’s momma!

Yesterday, I set my mind to it and knocked both of them out. Binding on both of these were a complete disaster. I have never seam ripped this much in my life before. WareBear even got in on the action with having to seam rip the binding off of one quilt – like pulled out the exacto knife to snip seams apart. IT WAS A DISASTER! I managed to get the Oklahoma one bound perfectly the second time around (as WareBear seam ripped the other).

For WareBear’s Momma!

When I say thrilled with the outcome, I cannot express in words how happy to send a quilt up north to my Okie neighbors.

As for WareBear mom, I hope she likes the one I made for her. Lots of blood, sweat, and tears went into the gift (LITERALLY, all three).

Both are done – one should be at it’s new home tomorrow when WareBear sees his momma at work. The other I hope to have in the mail in the next two days.

Where does this leave me now? My craft exchange projects were placed on the back burner this weekend. Good thing, I had a pretty rad dream with Martha Stewart involved – so prep has been done and now it requires some sewing and piecing together.

Well Sevi, what happens after that?!? WareBear keeps asking me if I have quilted the monster of a quilt for our bed yet…..

I haven’t. I was very intimidated by the sheer size of it, but that’s all ended.

White binding.....WareBear Approved.

White binding…..WareBear Approved.

This gnawing need to be finished with it has started to creep into my dreams. Just imagining myself all curled up in a ball, engulfing myself with the endless colors, and watching the season premiere of True Blood with the man gives me the chills. So we picked binding this weekend! I am making my own binding for this quilt because it’s my baby and I want it to be perfect.

I cannot wait to put it on the blog and share it with you all!

Until it’s finished, keep crafting.
