Basic. I cringe thinking of pumpkin spice lattes, leggings and Uggs, and the infamous close up selfie with a Starbucks cup plus perfectly manicured nails. I’ve never dreamed of being basic, but have been guilty pulling the basic stunt for the sake of fitting in with the blog times. If you know me, you know that I have a larger than life personality and don’t have many damns to give. Nor do I believe in fitting in, when I should be standing out!
Honestly, what you see is not even half of what you will get once I open my mouth and tell you like it is.
As I was doing some quick shopping, I came across the most epic muscle tee in Target and didn’t even think twice. I needed it! The weird part about me buying this muscle tee is that I don’t have toned arms. They are chubtastic and I was paranoid about side boob. David was very convincing that this shirt needed to go home with me, so I picked it up and started the brainstorming.
With such an awesome shirt, making a bold statement was a must (especially when the trends right now lean towards being basic) – I wanted this outfit to stand out. Time to set those insecurities aside and own it.
With this outfit, I went for a bold lip because it’s a cream color muscle tee. The perfect red by nyx cosmetics blended with my skin well and I was feeling very daring. The plum pants were worn for the very last time with this outfit, because later on after these photos were taken, I split a gaping hole in them. The jean jacket and boots were a perfect addition to the comfortable feel I was looking for. To top this entire off, I am rocking this beautiful Baublebar necklace that is a showstopper on its own.
New goal in life: take basic down, one Starbucks cup at a time!
