Downtime: What I do Offline to Recharge

Clearly I’ve been out of pocket these last few days, but for good reason. It’s my birthday month and I’ve got no obligations to anything these days.

Yes, you read that correctly. NO OBLIGATIONS TO ANYTHING or ANYONE. It also doesn’t help that I’ve had the allergies from hell lately (shout out Texas for all the ragweed).

Regardless of the allergy issues, I’ve been living the best life and really being more diligent with unplugging. I’ve been removing myself from being glued to my laptop and enjoying more time out with family and friends. If you’re following me on Instagram, you usually at least get a sneak peek of things that are happening.

You may be reading this like I’m crazy – bloggers are all about making money, monetizing their blogs, getting people to buy all their clothes, etc. Yeah, not all of us. It’s never been a primary goal of mine to monetize my blog to be my sole income. We can go back to my first blog goals sheet and you’ll see that I’ve never wanted to be the one that quits her day job and becomes the exclusive full time blogger.

If I’m quitting my day job, it definitely won’t be to spend time writing on the blog full time. I’ll have a cute little bed and breakfast or own a fancy beach bungalow that I rent out to folks.

I digress, this is why I take breaks from this little corner of the internet. I’m allowed to do so and when I do I make sure that it’s not spent even thinking about this blog. Which leads me to what I do offline to recharge and pick right back up where I left off.

2 Fitness + Recently, I’ve discovered that I’m a workout junkie.

Current Goals
Hit weight goal by 30th birthday – currently on track to destroy this
Achieve perfect attendance during this Brik Boot Camp at Kaia
Motivate my Kaia Sister to pick up heavier weight
Keeping eating well (we’ve drastically reduced our eating out over the last few weeks and I’m proud of that)

I’ve got goals set, plenty of reading to do, and a 30th birthday right around the corner. I’ve let a lot of stressful situations really take away from the grace and will that I have within myself. What I’m quickly remembering to remind myself that I have no obligations to please people who do not have the best intentions for the role they play in my life. So I’m setting the intentions of bringing the best version of myself to the table at all times – even on my hardest days when I want to shy away (unless I’m having crappy allergies).

If I disappear for a little, just take it in stride. I’m still around, just living life to its fullest.
