Drop Your Shoulder Girllllll & Shop Mieux!

#shopmieux happened this weekend! Let me reiterate that I am not a fashion blogger. I have no desire to be a fashion blogger. You are lucky to catch me in a pair of heels.

WareBear assured me that I looked fantastic as I headed out of the house, which I needed that extra boost of confidence (shout out kid, I love you). Remember, I rarely wear heels and I had this fear that I would fall on my face and hurt myself.

This weekend, I wore a Banana Republic dress with Nine West heels and crimson M.A.C. slathered lips out for ShopMieux’s 1st Birthday Celebration: Sip & Shop! I was a 6’2″ amazon decked in black with a messy afro to top the ensemble off. I sipped, mingled, and shopped my way through Shop Mieux and let me say it didn’t disappoint.

I took a lovely friend with me, who is model gorgeous ! It’s been a while since we were able to hang out and she was a pure delight (and did I mention model gorgeous). As I was browsing, I turned to find one of my volunteers (who I had already planned my first date with – we were meant to be friends) shopping as well. She fit right in and the three of us became a crowd, until we found our fourth who made us a party! This stunning young man was introduced to me out of nowhere by my model gorgeous friend…I was sold! He was hilarious and even gave out free posing lessons – HE CAN POSE and I will be dropping that shoulder from now on (Instagram @hippiehairstylist).

Let me warn you, if you are not the type of person who is willing to rummage through racks of clothes – Shop Mieux is not for you. This consignment shop is filled with racks and racks of reasonably priced high end brands that could easily take you a good three hours of searching for the perfect finds. Everything was clearly marked by sizes (S-XL) and types (dresses, jeans, outwear, shorts, tops, scarves, shoes, and handbags) – for a place of its small size, the selection was vast.

The staff was extremely friendly, even on an evening when they had a number of different individuals to cater to. Once I found a gorgeous staff member she was willing to empty my hands quickly so that I could keep shopping. Oh and trust me I shopped, I helped my friends shop, and I marveled at the fact that I got to meet not one, but two of my favorite bloggers. Helene and Sarah were both in attendance and upon stumbling into Helene while browsing a rack – I fan girled out. I’ll admit it!

I FAN GIRLED OUT and then proceeded to get my friend to take a picture of me with them. They were both as humble and awesome in person as they are on their blogs. Meeting genuine people is always refreshing!

While we are on the talk of genuine people, as I was checking out the owner of Shop Mieux was working hard at her own party with her staff. This set the entire tone of what type of person Kelsey is and  the place she has established in Dallas. She was working hard and had the friendliest demeanor when I greeted her. If you love a good deal, you will not be disappointed by Shop Mieux!

To top off this ridiculously fun event, I landed the perfect outfit and it’s so vintage that it screams Sevi. This shopping trip, Iphoto 4 had one thing in mind – cowboy boots. I wanted to find a cute dress (Leslie Fay, Vintage 70s Dress, $10) to go with my cowboy boots and I was willing to move mountains to make that happen. Luckily, no mountains needed to be moved! Talk about love at first sight, I couldn’t leave the dress – the hat (Express, $9) was an added bonus. I also snagged a classic white Gap top, that was just $8 – so why leave it behind.

An impromptu photo shoot happened in our living room last night because I was so excited and couldn’t stop talking about how amazing the night was!

To make a long story short, Shop Mieux is on my radar. How and why it has escaped me this entire year is a tragedy. I have a lot of making up to do. They are open Tuesday – Saturday from 11am – 6pm and you always have the option to shop online. If you live in Dallas, you would be doing yourself an injustice shopping online. The staff was so incredibly friendly and you don’t want to miss out on the hunt.

With that, happy hunting!
