I know what you’re thinking, is that even possible?!? Most people go to brunch to sip on that much needed Bloody Mary to get over the raging hangover they are battling from the night before.
This was not the case for me this weekend. My friends and I went to Bishop Arts District on Saturday morning for brunch at Oddfellows. Without fail, the wait was well over an hour and we were forced to shop around a bit while we waited on our table.
After a little bit of shopping, we were pretty anxious and decided to pop into Oddfellows to see how long our wait was after a good 40 minutes of window shopping. Seven parties waiting for tables ahead of us – ok, that sounded pretty daunting. This is when we started thinking on our toes; with seven parties ahead of us, it just made sense that we find a place to get our pre-brunch celebrations on.
Where can you find a mimosa on a Saturday morning at 11:00AM?
Luckily for us, Bishop Arts did not disappoint as we found ourselves in Whitehall Exchange with a carafe of champagne in front of us. As we started pouring our drinks, my dear friends joked that it would be hilarious if our table was ready as we got our drinks….
GUESS WHAT HAPPENED?!?
OUR TABLE WAS READY! This literally less than 10 minutes after leaving Oddfellows in search of our starter drinks. What do you do when you have an entire carafe of champagne and a table being hold for a max of 5 minutes? You chug. You chug a carafe of champagne between 4 ladies and then run down the road to be seated.
Saturday was not my finest day, but I did indulge; pancakes, a bacon/cheddar scramble, and the bloody mary definitely made the morning interesting!
And because I was down in my favorite part of time, we stopped to do a little bit of shopping at Zoomos Pop Up Shop. I didn’t buy anything because I had my heart set on some macarons.
Brunch. Nailed it.
