Fan Friday: Wait, Beyonce isn’t performing again?

I kid, I kid! This lady is well aware that Beyonce is not performing again this year, but a lady can wish!Linkup_super_bowl

I am linking up with Karly Kim and Venus Trapped in Mars for this special edition of Fan Friday.

Even though I live in Dallas, grew up just a stone’s throw away from “America’s Team” practice facility and stadium, and listened to my dad root the “Boys” on to 3 championships – my heart does not belong to them.

It was the year 2000 and my heart was stolen by a big brawny quarterback by the name of Donovan McNabb blew my mind. I was sold and officially declared that the Philadelphia Eagles were my football team of choice. To be honest, I am surprised that my dad let me continue living in the house after this bold declaration. I also was very unclear of the consequences of being an Eagles fan in Dallas. It’s not easy, but through it all I thrived and survived.

Today, I proudly can proclaim that I am still an Eagles fan and here are 5 reasons why 2014-2015 football season will be one to definitely keep your eye on the Philadelphia Eagles.

1. Chip Kelly. Need I say more. The master mind behind it all. He has taken it upon himself to rebuild a team that needed a lot of tough love, in a tough city. The man has his shit together and isn’t afraid to get in people’s faces. Mad respect to him for stepping into this role and owning it. I am looking forward to seeing what the next season has in store for Chip and the team.

2. DEFENSE – It’s coming along, but we still have some kinks to work out. They have a lot to live up to since our offense is operating on all cylinders.

3. Speaking of offense, DeSean and LeSean are going to be powerhouses in the 2014-2015 season. Coming off a great ending to the 2013-2014 season with the NFC championship and both earning berths to compete at the 2014 Pro Bowl, these two young stars have a lot to prove. Get ready for quite a spectacle with these two leading the charge.

4. We’ve got Napoleon Dynamite Nick Foles as our starting quarterback! I’ll be the first to say that I have been hard on the kid, really hard. Every time he would set foot on the field, I would cringe at the sheer thought that the game had just been blown. It would be a black cloud of doom when he jogged out onto the field. So Nick, I’m sorry for my lack of faith in you. BUT THANK GOODNESS you got your shit together, because I was worried about you kid. He stepped in this season and blew not only the Philly fans minds, but everyone else’s! It became reality when I tried to pick him up in my fantasy league this year and he was snagged. Pro Bowl MVP, 2014-2015 season ain’t got nothing on you Napoleon Dynamite Nick Foles!

5. The Eagles are ready for just about anything. Did you see that game against Detroit?!? If we can play in that, we can play in anything. I mean rain, sleet, snow, the zombie apocalypse – you name it, we can do it.

My team isn’t in the big game, but I’m still a fan. Always will be.

As for the big game this weekend, I am indifferent on who wins – I can go for either team. I really just want a stellar game of football to end the year with a bang!

Happy NOT Beyonce Bowl weekend! Off to watch a Beyonce video to pretend that she will be performing at the game.

I am very much looking forward to eating, and commercials. I’m not really a fan of either team, but I’ve decided to root for Sherman’s Seahawks. I’ll be looking out for your Eagles next year though.

Nick Foles ended up being RIDIC. I remember that first matchup between the cowboys and eagles this year, he looked terrible. Good lord did he change his tune throughout the season. He really is an impressive QB now.

RIGHT?!? Blew my mind for sure. I was shocked that he picked up up. Let’s hope that carries over into the 2014 season.
