Goal Setting

February Small Goals

Linking up for small goals with Nicole from writes like a girl. Another month of goals to tackle, but before we get into this month’s goals let’s revisit January.

Revisiting January Small Goals

All in all, I’m pretty proud of myself for the first month that I’ve taken part in small goals. Instead of completely ignoring the goals, I had a hand in at least attempting to work on them.

Refine budget for the next 6 months

In Progress – So this goal is definitely still in progress and I plan on adding it to my February small goals.

Increase water intake

Work on finalizing nursery and baby shower plans

In Progress – Good news, we have paint and a concept drawn up for the nursery. Even better news, we have a date for the baby shower!

Create new media kit

In Progress – Another goal that will be moved to February!

Read a book

2/5 completed – let’s look on the bright side because the rest are in progress and I did make an effort with them!

February Small Goals

Refine budget for the next 6 months

Being an adult now and switching insurance companies with my job meant for a change in expenses for this pregnancy. Now that we have a clearer idea of what to expect with our financial obligations for medical expenses, we should be able to better budget for the next few months.

Paint nursery and set up crib

We have the paint and David plans on knocking out the painting job we need to do to get the basics of the nursery in place. Originally we have a crib on our registry, but David’s mom let us know that she still had his baby crib from when he was younger. Well, we decided that it would be sentimental to have David’s crib in our nursery. David has plans to paint it to match the nursery!

Make baby shower guest list

This is the one small goal that I’m dreading to tackle this month. I’m sure I’ll be writing an entire post dedicated to the stress that this task alone will more than likely bring to me. The worst part about this one is that the feedback that I’ve received from individuals has been great on how to invite people.

At the same time, my nice filter has drastically gone out of the window with this pregnancy. I don’t know if I’ll be able to nicely communicate to people that as much as they would like to attend my baby shower – they won’t be invited. My life has changed drastically in the last 3 years that a few people haven’t really gotten the hint that we are strictly Facebook friends and that’s ok. We’ll see how this list goes…..

Finish creating new media kit and order blog brand cards

I tried. To be honest, I made a real effort with this one. That effort was just not enough because the rough draft that I have is not much. At the same time, my niche has changed dramatically from the direction this blog use to veer towards.

With those changes, I’ve started to encounter requests from a new set of individuals that I want to make clear of my expectations. This month I’m buckling down and finishing my media kit. In addition, I also plan on creating new blog brand cards for events and people that I meet.

Plan out Instagram photos ahead of time

I’ll be the first to say I’ve been slacking on my Instagram game. It just hasn’t been a priority at all. I’ve had quite a few sponsored posts that I need to start posting but the timing has been incredibly horrible with the current events in the world.

Basically, it’s time for me to step up my Instagram game. Everyone enjoys sharing pictures and it is just another outlet for me to escape in. With a few sponsored post to promote, I have the motivation to really pick it up this month.

What are you goals for this month? Leave one in the comments below!
