Now You See Me, Firmoo Review

A few years ago, I made the trek to the optometrist to see about my vision. For a few years I had been experiencing terrible headaches and figured it was due to the nature of spending so much time in front of a computer. Of course, my optometrist informed me that I should’ve been wearing glasses for years and suited me up with my new eyes.

Since then I’ve been a champ at getting my eyes checked every year. The first thing I learned while embarking on my optical journey is that GLASSES ARE NOT CHEAP. In order to find a decent pair of glasses that fit your face perfectly and serve the purpose of helping your function during your daily tasks is hard to come across. I’ve purchased a number of different brands over the last few years and haven’t really locked myself into one particular favorites.

When Firmoo contacted me to review a pair of glasses from their online store, you know I couldn’t pass that up. Remember people, glasses are expensive and I am all up for having options for my wardrobe. Here’s a short recap of my experience with Firmoo.

Ordering

The website was easy to navigate and placing my order was simple. Selecting the style of frame was difficult as Firmoo has such a large selection of modern and retro frames. Actually picking my frames honestly took me the longest during the process, but the Firmoo try on system was helpful. Once selected, I was able to customize my glasses to fit my prescription needs.

I easily entered my prescription information which is critical to making sure that your glasses are effective. Luckily my optometrist has great handwriting, so inputting the necessary information was very easy. If you plan on ordering a prescription, please be sure that you can read all of the necessary information to assure you get glasses that work.

There are plenty of options for lens from thickness, colors, and coatings. You can easily choose whatever suits your needs.

Shipping and Receiving

I read quite a few horror stories on reviews about their Firmoo glasses never reaching them – I can attest that I did not have any problems with my shipping. There are two shipping options that you can decide on (standard and express courier) – seeing as I wasn’t in a hurry to get these glasses, I opted for standard shipping. They arrived about 1 week after I ordered them, which was what I’m use to waiting for glasses when I order them after appointments.

For a product coming from overseas, they arrived around the date my shipping stated they would and the packaging was great. I love the map glasses case and the micro fiber cleaner. For an added bonus, they added a eyeglasses screwdriver which came in handy.

Product

I opted for the bottom of the line – no additional thickness to lens and anti scratch. They charge extra for anti reflective coating ($4.95) and I wish I would’ve spent the money on that added addition. It would’ve helped out quite a bit with all the driving and staring at a bright screen I do all day.

The fit was perfect and they looked exactly like the image from the website. The colors are fun, whimsical, and fit my personality perfectly. I will say that the screwdriver that they sent was very handy in fixing one of the one of the legs that was a little loose. I’ve had to go in and tighten the legs quite a bit with the continual wear over the last few weeks. These glasses have been very easy to keep clean with the microfiber cloth that was provided, but the lens are very thin so I’m nervous to put the elbow grease that I put in with my normal glasses while cleaning.

All in all, I’m extremely happy with my Firmoo glasses and definitely would purchase another pair in a heartbeat. They are an affordable price, good quality, and have a variety of different styles to select from.

Disclosure: I received a free pair of glasses from firmoo.com in exchange for an honest review.  I did not receive any compensation for this post and all opinions are my own.

Those glasses are super cute! They totally fit your face and your personality. I had a similar story of how I began wearing contacts/glasses. I kept getting headaches and couldn’t figure out why, then I had to go and get my license changed over from Massachusetts to Maryland since we’d just moved, I am pretty sure I FAILED the eye test but the guy took pity on me and literally said to me, “I’m going to pass you, but I highly HIGHLY recommend getting your eyes checked.” I made an eye appointment and when they gave me the little thing to cover one eye and read the letters, I looked at the poster and literally said “Well, I know that top letter is an E but it’s awfully fuzzy!” Whoops! haha

They do have prescription sunglasses. I am very happy with my first pair and I ended up ordering two additional pairs.

Those glasses look great on you…but Zenni.com is where I buy all my family’s glasses. Same selection and service but MUCH better pricing (but no free pairs for bloggers, either.) Shop both and make a smart choice!

I have shopped Zenni before, good company with great prices. The presentation (and free glasses) from Firmoo knocked it out of the park for me. I hope Zenni upgraded their cases because they use to come in a clear case that didn’t work for me.
