GEEK Month & Sevitember

Hello there friends!  Waiting until the very last moment of September 1 to blog is insane, more to come about that later today…..

Can you believe that September (AKA Sevitember) is already here?!? Dallas hasn’t cooled down a bit, but summer has officially ended and its time for the best season of the year (FALL!) to start its slow descent upon us.

I am starting the month off right with the first annual Geek Month with CheekyGeeks and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be 206x206xmtg-001.jpg.pagespeed.ic.9VHoplZaewapart of it. My qualifications are vast, but I will share three that make me certified to be apart the Geek Month contributors:

  1. Sam Beckett (played by Scott Bakula) from Quantum Leap is my favorite character in a Sci-Fi show ever. Quantum Leap didn’t get enough credit for being such an epic and groundbreaking show in regards to an individual being trapped in a time warp as they leapt through time.
  2. Waiting outside of Barnes and Noble for the newest book, midnight showing for movies, and understand that “It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.” Harry Potter. Do I even need to explain this further?
  3. I get a serious kick from Sci-Fi channel original movies. Actually, I get a kick from the Sci-Fi channel. It does not get enough credit for it’s original shows and all day marathons

It’s going to be a geek-filled month of grand fun!  You are probably wondering what Geek Month is all about. Elise has a line up of fun topics to cover each week of the month and I am been diligently prepping for what I plan on writing on.

Here’s the breakdown for the month:

  • Week 1: Fantasy
  • Week 2: Sci-Fi
  • Week 3: Retro
  • Week 4: DinoRAWRs!!
  • 29th & 30th: Super surprises! (All Elise, you’ll have to check out her blog to find out more)

I will still be blogging here at Ware is the Vodka?!? but make sure you check me out on Geek Month’s Sevi Saturdays on Cheeky Geeks. Are you excited?! I am thrilled and cannot wait to get started. Please say you’ll let me enjoy my inner geek.

If you aren’t into Geek Month, no need to fear because SEVITEMBER is here!

My birthday has never just been September 25, I would be robbing myself of all the greatness that is me. Also, in middle and high school, my birthday always seemed to get overshadowed by every other September baby that was celebrating their special day. Christmas and New Year’s ruined all of us, because here we are 9 months later…

BirthdayDivaThis is the one month where I am pretty sure that everyone gets sick and tired of me talking about my absolute favorite subject ever, ME. If I didn’t have so many people in my life and all of those other holidays, I seriously would celebrate my birthday all year long. Alas, I like to celebrate the special people in my life, so I’ll take Sevitember. I plan on making my wish list to share with all of my loving friends and family to let you know that I deserve to be showered with love and gifts!

Say you’ll celebrate with me, because I will not take no for an answer.

xoxo – the birthday lady!

Hilarious! I’m right there with you sister, I did this with almost every book and movie too! I even dressed up because I needed attention like that 😉

I never dressed up, but I had my reasons. I knew I wasn’t going to be sticking around too long to enjoy all the festivities. I was a get there as early as possible to secure spot in line, get book, jump in car and speed home, read until I got to the last page!
