Monday Hangover

Monday Hangover: InstaWeekend

First off, I hope this Labor Day is treating you well. We’ve earned this day for all of the hard work and strength we put into our daily jobs to contribute to the continued well-being of this country.

With that being said, let’s get to the real nitty gritty – the Monday struggle is real y’all. After a busy weekend, I decided that instead of enjoying my Sunday evening to start laundry. Talk about a real drag to my 4-day weekend, but today I’m taking the high road and remember the good times this past weekend.

I kicked it off with dinner and ice cream with a few of my favorite Angels. After traveling together for an entire week, it was nice getting to catch up on our lives now that we’ve returned to normal. Made a trek to Plano and indulged in a Baskin Robbins double scoop waffle cone.

Friday started out with donuts in bed from a hometown favorite, Jerry’s Donuts – which made for one of the most unproductive days. If you have any recommendations on how to motivate someone who has nothing to do to get out of bed, please let me know! I got a late start, which made for a late night. The best part about it all is I did get to enjoy some patio time with my brand new koozie from Swoozie’s.

On Saturday, the late night proved to be worth it all when I celebrated the first birthday of the sweetest little girl, Taryn. After setting up, I started snapping photos to capture the memories of the day. This birthday party proved to be the perfect excuse to wear my tutu, because when the princess turns one – tutus and tiaras are required. To jazz it up, I added my leopard flats!

After the party, I made a trip to Ikea with Valery and grab a few goodies before heading to The Vintage House. Boy am I glad that’s a weekend stop for me because they had an amazing Labor Day sale courtesy of Vera Bradley. I’ve been obsessed with purchasing a Vera Bradley backpack for ages now and this weekend I cashed in on a deal….50% off! Say hello to my new beauty….

Sunday was pretty low key with some special time with my favorite guy. We spent some serious cuddle time talking about the last 10 years we’ve been together – which led to when we met. I’m just going to leave this here, because David is a mess. It also made me think of how others felt about their significant others. How did you guys meet? Was it love at first sight? Where they trying to light an ant pile on fire?

Besides two fantasy football drafts and planning out all of the exciting things I’ve got coming for the next few weeks of Sevitember, it’s been a wild weekend! What have you done and what do you have planned?!

Jim and I met at “the Farmhouse” through a mutual friend. It was an old farmhouse that had been renovated into three apartments. I thought he was goofy and didn’t really even think of him in any kind of relationship way for a few weeks. But, he was really into movies and one evening he invited me and my bff (our mutual friend) up to watch Casablanca. The rest is pretty much a blur, I knew within a few months that he was different and that he was the one. And I’ve never thought differently in the past 7 years!!
