ipsy has arrived.

Just a small recap, I’ve been shopping around for a subscription box that works for me. I remember being on the waiting list for Birchbox and finally getting accepted to that exclusive club. Then after a year of a variety of products, some I could use and others I constantly changed my profile to avoid, I switched to the Onyxbox. That was very short lived as when it came time for my second box to arrive, I was double charged (due to a simple billing address mix up during our move) and then never received a box. Once I finally got in contact with them a week after originally contacting them they sent me a box, refunded the money, and then sent me two eye liners to appease me. The customer service was mediocre and I decided that I would take a break from subscription boxes for a while.

Facebook advertising keeps getting smarter and smarter, because about 3 weeks ago I googled subscription boxes. Shortly after that, I had tons of different services popping up in my Facebook sidebars and sponsored posts. After much contemplating, I went with one that a few of my friends had already liked on Facebook.

Welcome to my world with ipsy.

First Ipsy

Animal print jim jams, wet hair, and a smile!

First off, can we discuss that bright pink foil packaging! How much fun is that?!? I immediately knew it was in our stack of mail as soon as I walked into my house. David watched as I carefully unpackaged my goodies, in order to preserve the pink packaging. Who knows what I’ll use it for again, but he let me have this moment!

Then the real fun came when it was time to view all the goodies.

The Ayres, Indie Lee, and noyah lipstick are all sample sizes, which is fine for me. It gives me an ample amount to actually try out to see if it something that I would be interested in purchasing full size. The Nicole by OPI and Skone eyeliner are full size and ready for maximum usage. I am pleased that both of these products are full size, because for me two staples that I love in my makeup life is polish and eyeliner. I don’t wear much makeup, but I will totally use eyeliner every day to make my eyes pop!

Last night, I painted my nails (the color I received was gold shimmer, On a Gilt Trip) and today I’m planning on wearing the noyah lipstick and Skone eyeliner to the Dallas Blogger Collective monthly happy hour. Be sure to check out Instagram for pictures!

I’ll keep you updated on the other products and that status of this subscription box.

One of my favorite small businesses, Wrist Soiree, uses that same pink packaging and it makes getting stuff from her even MORE exciting! Can’t wait to see what you get next month 🙂
