WareBear and I got a new mattress this evening. When I say we needed it….we NEEDED it. One side (not mine) has finally started caving in. Lately, WareBear has been migrating his way to my side and I seem to end up on the very edge of our bed. John at Sleep Experts in Lewisville was extremely helpful and sold me with their motto – They aren’t selling mattresses, they are selling a good night’s rest. Need I say more!
As we were checking out, the most stunning woman sauntered in with a stylish straw fedora. Carrie. WareBear handled the transaction, as I let Carrie know how cheap I was and couldn’t believe how expensive mattresses were. The conversation slowly shifted to her son investing (beds are investments these days) in the same mattress we purchased. She has 2 sons, ages 18 & 26. CARRIE DID NOT LOOK A DAY OLDER THAN 34.
I KID YOU NOT. Mind blown. Floored.
First question, what was her secret?!? This urge to share it with the world came to me. I needed to know how she did it.
Second question, can I be your friend? Ok, it didn’t come out of my mouth but I did think it. She has such an infectious personality that I wanted to go out and have a nice glass of wine over the finer things in life.
Third, are you really serious about the two kids?!? Goodness, I couldn’t believe her. There was no way that this beautiful, stunning, drop dead gorgeous woman in front of me had a 26 year old (my age, mind you) and 18 year old son.
WareBear reminded me a few times that I did not need to suck up anymore, that he had already bought the mattress. He’s a man – he doesn’t understand that I can appreciate a beautiful woman and provide her with the gratitude for looking stunning.
Besides my co-workers, Carrie was the first person I handed my blog business card to. Remember, I’m not above self promotion (and I have a few events coming up that I plan on pimping my blog out to). Carrie, if you are reading this – I can only hope that I age as fine as you have. Not only are you gorgeous, you have the most mellow soul and I could’ve stayed there having a whole conversation with you.
As for the sewing home front – I plan on basting the mini cupcake quilt tomorrow (yes, the man did replace the batting and backing) and getting that started on. Plus, a trip to JoAnn’s is in order to pick out the border for Chrissy’s quilt. Pictures will follow!
