Goal Setting

May Small Goals

Linking up for May small goals with Nicole from writes like a girl. Another month of goals to tackle, but before we get into this month’s goals let’s revisit April.

Revisiting April Goals

Spring cleaning of the house – In Progress

Good news, we started. Bad news, we didn’t finish. Silver lining, we still have a few weeks before baby girl arrives to make it happen and not much is really left.

Finish nursery, including the crib! – COMPLETE

We did it! It’s complete! Just have a few more shelves to hang and set up the recliner once it arrives. It’s perfect and so spacious. I can’t wait to share it on the blog.

Work on birth plan – COMPLETE

The birth plan is complete. I just need to type it up and print out all the copies we’ll need.

Take more walks with David and the dogs – Incomplete

I’ll be honest, I failed at this. Walking was the last thing on my mind after long days at work. Hoping I can squeeze a few walks in this month to soothe my soul before baby girl arrives.

Schedule maternity photos – COMPLETE

Luckily Stephanie convinced me that these needed to happen. They were everything. I’ve posted a few sneak peeks on Instagram, but I really want to share them in a separate blog post and album for you all to enjoy. Here is one to hold you over!

May Small Goals Sneak Peek

May Small Goals

May is here. Next month, we’ll be having a baby. I can’t really put everything into words on how I am feeling. It’s surreal thinking that in just a few short weeks, we’ll be parents. Go time is here and all of my May small goals revolve around the fact that we’re having a baby next month!

Finish spring cleaning

We don’t have much left to really finish up, so this should be fairly easy to complete over the next few weeks. I want to really focus on our bedroom, because I know that we’ll all be spending quite a few restless nights in there. This should be an easy goal to tackle!

Schedule dry run to hospital with go team

The birth plan is complete and I’m typing it up in the next few days. I’ve got some maps included to assist our labor go team, but we are going to make a dry run. Depending on what time this whole shindig goes down, there is only one door in the evenings that is open for L&D. I want to be sure that our go team has a clear understanding of where to park when things start happening.

Prep frozen meals for after baby’s arrival

Pinterest is a life saver, because the amount of frozen recipes that can easily be made are vast! This week I’m working on a list of meals that we are interested in and going to work on setting a date with Hunny to start meal prepping. We’ll be ready to go by the time this little one gets here!

Get postpartum plans complete

I have a mini list of postpartum plans that I would like to have in place before the end of this month. Over the next few weeks, I’m hoping to tackle just the 3 items that I have been recommended by other new moms before our little one arrives. If I can make it through these 3 small things, I’m good to go for postpartum care.

Take time for myself

With it being May and the reality that we could have a baby at any given time within the next few weeks, I need to focus more on myself. I really want to be cognizant that first and foremost, I’ll always be myself. Becoming a mom is a bonus and I’m ready to start this new chapter. At the end of the day, I never want to lose sight of what makes me unique. I believe taking the time for myself will only make my journey into motherhood stronger. We’ll discuss more on that later this week on Simply Mommy Chronicles….

My goals for the month is to help fill your freezer with good meals. Dry run is at the top of my list. I’m not going to miss this! Get my list so I got everything lined up so it goes as smooth as possible.😊

A dry run is such a smart idea! I never even thought of doing something like that when I was pregnant. Also filling your freezer with meals is genius. I had people bring me meals when the girls were born (it was like a squadron set up thing since Thomas was in the Marines at the time) and it was hands down the best, most helpful thing when dealing with a new baby.

What a beautiful maternity photo! How exciting, I hope all goes well and smoothly this month!! Very smart to do some freezer meals, your post-partum, exhausted, future self will be thanking you for that later. And also, great goal to take some time for yourself before your little one gets here.

I love that you included self care in your goals for May! Also have I ever told you about Once a Month Meals? Jeff doesn’t like deciding recipes ahead of time (lame) but it would be GREAT for you guys to prep meals I’m suuuure. They have tons of ideas and different menus for dietary restrictions if you want to be healthier. https://onceamonthmeals.com/
