Monday Hangover

Monday Hangover | Chic and Geek

Happy Monday Vodka Lovers and HOLY JUNE!!!!!

I’m still wrapping my head around the fact that its Monday and IT’S JUNE. I’ll be honest, I am exhausted and can’t believe we are nearly halfway through 2015. I kicked off the weekend with my favorite activity – PRE WEEKEND! I’m telling you guys, make something happen on Thursday nights.

Pre Weekend was all about the DMA Junior Associates 2015 Dine Around. This was the 14th annual event and it was my first! Dine Around is a dinner hosted at the residence of a fellow Junior Associate member – I was fortunate enough to attend dinner at Sally and Adam’s place. The cocktail hour was great, the meal was divine, and my dinner company totally understood the need for the perfect picture. Luckily, I’ve grown out of the awkward phase of “should I or should I not mention my blog?” It’s a part of me and I needed to make sure that I captured each and every course of this meal.

Shout out to all of my dinner companions that evening! You guys were such a pleasure and I couldn’t have asked for a better group to experience Dine Around with. If you’re reading, leave a comment – don’t be shy!

After Dine Around, I skipped the after party because I need to get a little bit of rest before the reminder of the weekend. I needed to be sure that I wasn’t going to make myself sick from sheer exhaustion because I tend to do that sort of thing.

I had the pleasure of attending Dallas Comic Con with my geek partner in crime, Valery Brennan. Together we’ll be writing a recap for Stephanie Drenka on the Fan Expo Dallas – so you’ll be able to check that out of her blog.

It was a surreal weekend and much different than Fan Days hosted at the Irving Convention Center. This was the holy grail of Dallas Cons and I finally was able to see why. The exhibit hall floor was massive and I probably spent more time chasing the Groot custom (to no avail). Valery and I managed to sit in on some great panels, Carrie Fisher being one of the best ever (check out Valery’s recap, here).

While hanging out and snapping photos of cosplayers, I was even able to snag a few awesome photo ops with two actors. Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait for the full recap on Stephanie’s blog – but you can check out pictures below!

One hell of a weekend, but I still managed to get grocery shopping and fresh flowers all ready for this upcoming week. The worst part is that I’m nursing one hell of a sore throat right now….

It’s Monday, you know what time it is!

Loving the fro! I totally identify with releasing any shyness about telling others about your blog. Plus you score some great assistant impromptu photogs! Have a great day!
