Slowly, I’m trying to come up with a way to incorporate a mandatory extra day into weekends.
Until that happens, I’m going to make sure the I enjoy as much of the week (aka pre-weekend) as possible. Last week was jam packed with so many great highlights that it took a lot for me to figure out where to even start my weekend recap!
First, your lady has a new hair do!
I won’t even lie, it’s really weird seeing myself with long hair and my dogs haven’t been taking it so well. David and I both love it and I plan on wearing them for a while. It’s been even better wearing it up in a ponytail, which wasn’t easy until I got a few cute With Love From Rigby elastic hair ties! Honestly, having an afro for so long I rarely have hair ties in my house – good thing I have a talented buddy in my corner.
Following the new do, I had a small #ScandalThursday get together at my house for a few local bloggers. I reached out of my Scandal loving bloggers and invited them over to my quaint little home for an evening of goodies and drama!
Shout out to my ladies for not judging me as a I had a mini meltdown because David and I (actually just me) record too much stuff on our DVR. We missed the first three minutes of Scandal due to severe weather rolling through the metroplex and the last three minutes because of my poor DVR skills. I handled it Olivia Pope style and it will not be happening again. I also finally saw those last three minutes (shoutout Jordan) and know what Foxtail is!
Friday consisted of some quality time with my second momma Claire and her sister Marsha. Marsha was in town for the weekend, so I rushed over Claire and Al’s house for drinks and hot tubbing. If you’ve been keeping up with this Dallas weather, it’s been pretty wild with severe storms rolling through every few days. Nothing had changed on Friday evening, but we braved the hot tub anyways.
As for the rest of the weekend, it was spent running errands for Mother’s day and mentally preparing myself for May 10th. While everyone celebrated Mother’s day, this heavy pressure was sitting on my chest remembering that my dad is no longer here. The tears were few and I chose to surround myself with loving and caring people who have impacted my life in so many ways. My best friends were kind enough to check on me with words of encouragement and it meant the world. It gets easier.
Here we are for another Monday and you know what time it is!
