Monday Hangover

Monday Hangover: Road Tripping

David and I packed up to head down to Conroe, Texas for the weekend to see one of my best friends. Arriving early Friday evening, I was beyond thrilled to spend some quality time with Katie and Blair. Blair was kind enough to let us all stay at his house since he has a legit guest bedroom with a bed and all. Katie was the hostess with the mostess cooking a fabulous dinner and making sure that we were at home.

We catched up on life and ate Dr. Pepper pulled pork sandwiches with coleslaw and sweet potato fries. After dinner is where the real fun began! Katie and Blair introduced us to this game called Tripoley and I had no idea that I was about to find my newest addiction. This game mixes Michigan Rummy, Hearts, and Poker into one gut wrenching gambler’s brawl.

The drinking and game play commenced – it was fast paced and we all wanted to win. After about 6 hours of game play, guess who ended up on top?

THIS BABE! I love winning, I really do. Once we realized it was 3:00AM, we all managed to stumble to bed.

Saturday was a day of just relaxation, which David and I need more than anything.  Katie and Blair didn’t have any itineraries set for us, which made life easy. We ate biscuits and gravy, sat around and watched movies, and then Katie and I managed to branch out a little. She took me over to see her apartment and explore The Woodlands for some retail therapy. After a little girl time, we headed back to Blair’s house to meet up with the guys for dinner.

To keep up with our relaxed trend, we headed home right after dinner for more movies and relaxing! We managed to watch Whiplash, a little Jackass, and Fury.

We managed to go to bed at a decent hour to wake up on Sunday morning for another great breakfast (chorizo breakfast tacos), before David and I headed back to Dallas.

Seriously, I didn’t want this weekend to end. It was exactly what David and I needed. We missed the dogs, but it was nice to just get away and not worry about anything for once. Katie and Blair showed us the epitome of Southern hospitality.

Alas it’s Monday and the weekly grind is here again. Here’s to another weekend trip soon!
