Monday Hangover | Weather Woes

It’s Memorial Day and I’ve got the day off. Not doing anything spectacular today, but just spending time with my amazing husband. I had plans to write this elaborate post in regards to Memorial day, but then I an amazing piece written by a friend. I highly recommend that you read this post from Nadia of Kallie Shoes about the true meaning of Memorial Day.
Besides having the day off, I’m still coming at you with my Monday Hangover recap!
Most of my weekend consisted of taking care of the sick husband I had at home. When he is sick, there isn’t much you can do. He never really needs any kind of tending to, but that all changes when he is sick. It required me to force myself to have a fairly low key weekend.
It all started off by tucking the man in for bed with some hot tea and heading to see Pitch Perfect 2 with Stephanie. All I have to say is that I absolutely love Fat Amy and Bumper – that whole pairing is enough for me to watch a movie with just them.
For a sequel, it was really good – but I don’t think if they tried to make a third I would see it. That’s all I’m going to say on that one.
The rest of the weekend consisted of a lot of therapy, sewing therapy! It’s been a long time since I treated myself to a little quality time with my beloved sewing machine, Indigo LaRue (yes my sewing machine has a name). Let me tell you, we put in some serious work.

From baby blankets, bibs, and a shawl – Indigo and I found out groove. I’m inspired and loving that I have the chance to get back behind my machine. I was even able to pull together another snapchat sewing tutorial to share on the blog later this week.
After a full two days of sewing, last night David was feeling better and we managed to get out of the house! Date night was sushi at a new joint, followed up with dessert at the new La Ventana in our hood. I really needed a churro to make my night!
