Moving Forward with Simply Sevi, The Final Follow Up of the Simply Who Situation

Let me begin this post with a huge thank you to all of you for your support and kind words during this ordeal. Remember transparency is key for this space on the internet. I am ready to move forward and put all of this behind me.

It’s been a week and I figure that I owe you all an update.

Please do not contact this blogger for any sort of retribution on my behalf.

Actions moving forward from Simply Autumn

After the original blog post, Autumn did comment and respond to the email that was sent to clarify the situation. I responded thoroughly to her after compiling all of the information from her comments and email response.

My peace was made in my email communication sent on Sunday, March 5th. The details of this email were clear and concise in regards to my feelings that have already been presented with this situation. Overall, I reiterated my beliefs that my brand was stolen and violated. I communicated my clear intentions of sticking behind my original claims with further information that will remain confidential. I’m unsure if she will or will not continue with Simply Autumn. As of the posting of this blog, I have not received a response and do not plan on spending any more time on this issue after today.

Looking forward to protecting my brand

As for protecting my brand, I’ve already started to take the necessary steps to protect upon possible future infringement. Bloggers have so many resources that are available to them. Luckily, I know people and was able to snag a useful bundle from Tyra of BarrisTourista on Copyright Law. This bundle is created specifically for the creator in mind to get our ducks in a row. It’s important to have “the correct legal framework and understanding of the law.” You better believe that I’m going to make sure I have everything in order, in case this happens again.

I also have plans to look into other resources to increase my knowledge to protect my intellectual property from future violations. In addition, I plan on making sure that everyone pays close attention to your own brand. Always pay attention to any small red flags that trigger you and speak your truth.

What to expect forward on Simply Sevi

Once again, I cannot thank you all enough for your support over these last few days. Navigating this issue hasn’t been easy. There have been times when I have allowed the frustration to really get to me and others when I just felt like maybe this wasn’t worth fighting over. You guys definitely proved me wrong. This is my safe space and I shouldn’t allow one person to interfere with what I’ve built here. So let’s do this! Nothing changes here, we keep moving forward. This is our space and we have so much to look forward to!
