My Natural Hair Movement (& Struggle) Mini Session

I have the most wonderful friends that know just how to distract me from doing anything productive….last night as I was suppose to be packing, my sweet friend Mia (you’ll meet her soon enough, so stay tuned) started texting me about hair.

We could easily talk natural hair all day every day. While I’m the Instagram follower, Mia is the Youtube expert. She knows all the need to knows of Youtube when it comes to the natural hair movement. It started with one Youtube video that lead to me watching nearly 10 different videos all about natural hair care.

All it took was one text from Mia to watch a Youtube video on the channel, My Natural Sistas. Remember, I don’t watch Youtube videos unless I absolutely have to and even then I have to be in a certain state of mind.

Yeah, that was not the case last night. Ten videos later, I had to find all of their social media accounts. UNBEKNOWNST TO ME, I WAS ALREADY FOLLOWING THEM ON FACEBOOK!

Palm meet face. Face meet palm.

As Mia and I continued to text, she mentioned a family member of hers making some whipped coconut oil for pre-poo (that’s another session kids) and proceeded to send me the link.

I plan on making it!

This is great! I make this as well as my own butters for my hair. I use Monoi oil, Coconut oil and Shea butter. My braid-outs are so soft and moisturized. 🙂

I use coconut oil, but never in a million years did I think about whipping it! So I am very excited to try this out. I am always looking for new ways for soft and moisturized hair.

Whitney! My thoughts exactly. Totally use coconut oil, but never thought about whipping it. Pre poo is fairly new in my hair care regime.
