North Carolina or Bust!

This time next week I’ll be blogging from North Carolina!

I will be making my grand entrance into the new hood of Gidget with my visit to New Bern and I couldn’t be more thrilled. WareBear puts it best when he says “we don’t know how to act” when we get together. I will not confess to just how true that statement may be, but let me tell you there will be drinking, swearing, thrifting, and sewing all to commence in just one week!

The only thing that could make this trip a perfect slice of my own nirvana would be if Megan was joining us. She’ll definitely be there in spirit and maybe we’ll skype her in one evening.

Gidget challenged and I accepted. She is graciously coming off of a crafting strike to let me enjoy Indigo LaRue at her beautiful home. So you are probably thinking, what’s brewin’ up in the ol’ sewing kitchen of Sevi?!?!burlapbag

1. Burlap Tote: I have a feeling that I am going to be doing quite a bit of thrifting while I’m in New Bern, so I will need a nice size tote to carry things around in. Why not a burlap tote?! It would be even cooler if I found a vintage burlap sack to make it out of.

maxiskirt2. Maxi Skirt: I ordered this tutorial from Mimi G. and have been so eager to tackle it. It was on a killer sale and I was like yes please! I am so excited to try this tutorial out. Mimi G. is quite possibly the most stylish seamstress ever and I envy her.

3. Diamond Quilt Top: Gidget placed a quilt on her challenge, so I’m going to take a stab at this one. diamondquiltIf I manage to get around to this, that would be awesome. This quilt top will really depend on the different fabrics that we come across. I’m curious as to if New Bern will have some hidden gems that will call to me for this quilt top. Maybe I’ll convince WareBear to let me get a quilt display ladder of my own.

So the countdown begins! My luggage is out, I’ve been keeping a close eye on the weather, and tying up all the loose ends for school and work. I cannot wait to share all the fun that is to be had with the adventures of Salt & Peppa!
