Goal Setting

October Small Goals, Revisiting September and moving forward with October goals!

October hasn’t been the kindest so far. With all the tragedy in the world, I really need to take a break and just couldn’t get this post done in time. I’ve also been fairly busy with a few other things that have taken priority. Luckily they align with my small goals, so I’m not beating myself up too much about not getting this post up sooner. My October small goals are definitely blogging heavy with this last quarter of the year already in swing. It’s surreal that this year is quickly coming to an end and I have to start thinking about 2018! Linking up with Nicole from writes like a girl for these October small goals.

Let’s do this!

Revisiting September Small Goals

Surprisingly September was a good month for me. My goals didn’t seem too far fetch and I was right. My purpose was to really focus on the little things that would, in turn, lead to working on bigger things.

Create new blog media kit – nearly complete! There was much more work to go into this goal than I originally assumed. I will say that I’m happy with the progress I did make. The final product will be done soon because I need it to work on an October small goal.

Dive into Feel Good Dress Better – DONE
Remove unnecessary spending from budget – DONE
Stick to my fitness goals – DONE
Do at least 1 craft project – DONE

4 out of 5! Talk about a great month! I’m pleased with how well I did with my September goals and look forward to what October has to offer.

Update resume

It’s so important to keep your resume up to date. You never truly know when you’ll need to start looking for your next opportunity. With this final quarter of 2017 here, I figure now is a great time to revisit my professional resume. I’m updating and modifying to reflect additional duties I’ve taken on. Also, I’m contemplating adding my blog to my resume. In actuality, this is the longest commitment I’ve had besides my marriage!

Where is my MSFA hat at?!?! I took a deep dive into Feel Good Dress Better and can honestly say wow! I’m embarrassed at the amount of t-shirts I own and am currently going through them. My closet clean out is still a big work in progress, but I am MAKING PROGRESS. So much so that I believe I’ll be able to move forward and start forming my own style ID. Hold your applause kids, you’ll have to see me wearing a lot of my new wardrobe in feeble attempts at MSFA!

Create better workflow for blog

Are there any experts out there on workflows for a blog? I figure I would ask before I 1) try to Google methods
or 2) spin the wheels and create my own. I need a simple, yet effective workflow to help with the consistency of my blog and planning ahead. Of course, I would like to start practicing it before 2018 arrives, so hit a sister up with your tips and tricks.

Tweet more!

I always forget how much I love Twitter. It’s the hub of funny people and honest rants. I’m going to start making it my priority to check Twitter in the morning and join in some conversations. Seriously, Twitter may be my favorite social site because I literally can let all the messiness of people get lost in the mix.

Create Christmas Wishlists for families on Amazon

The holidays will be here before you know it and I don’t want to wait until the last minute. I’m going to start arranging Amazon wishlist for our respective families to get a jumpstart on Christmas shopping. I love my Prime perks too much to not use them.

There you have it! I won’t even lie, I’m ready to tackle these October goals with a vengeance. With so much going on, I’m glad these aren’t too time sensitive and can go into the November goals if need be.

I just recently updated my resume and realized how much it needed it! It was refreshing to see how new challenges I’ve taken on at work can translate to my resume and make it stand out more! I also have defining my Style ID from FGDB on my small goals for October and I’m hoping I can finally come up with something that fits my style now.
