Pictures or it didn’t happen!

Remember when you would tell your friends about the awesome things that would happen to you over the weekend and they wouldn’t believe you?!? Instead they would quickly proclaim, “pictures or it didn’t happen?”

That easily could’ve been my entire weekend if I didn’t manage to scour my iphone for some semblance of what my weekend looked like. I’ll be the first to say this was very difficult for me and I failed as a lifestyle blogger on the picture taking front, but I promise I have a valid reason why.

As always, I kicked the weekend off on a Thursday evening with Dallas Blogger Collective and their Blogging 101 Speed Chat. It was an intimate speed chat session that gave bloggers an opportunity to chat  with a wide variety of experts in their respective fields on any topic to help grow your blogging career and take you to the next level.

For me, it was very beneficial and informative for some new challenges that have come my way as this little blog makes it way across the internet. I also set a goal to take a selfie with each panelist that I met with. NAILED IT.

Oh and my fabulous blogger bestie, Stephanie Drenka (who was also a panelist), managed to snap this cute photo of me!

Friday and a vast majority of Saturday I was a bum. When I say bum, I did get out of the house. As in I had breakfast with Momma Claire and stopped by The Vintage House to chat with my favorites. You would know all of this because I  finally opened up this little app that has been sitting on my phone for ages to give the world a sneak peek into my life.

Yeah, I’m back in the Snapchat world and its definitely the most real you will see me. As in afro wrapped up in my du rag and gracing you with the most authentic of myself.

Along with drinks, because Snapchat is meant for you to share all the delicious vodka soaked delicacies.

For serious, add me on Snapchap.

I spent most of Saturday evening attempting to snap my off key attempts during Valery’s karaoke birthday bash – which I slayed Always Be My Baby by Mariah Carey! After about 3 vodka sodas, I was feeling pretty daring and managed to just start singing along to any and every song. Fun fact from karaoke: The Thong Song is comprised of a chorus and 1 verse….repeated the entire song.

Sunday was a day of rest and relaxation. David and I hit up Trader Joe’s, he went to work, and I headed out to celebrate Baby Ware! As in my brother and sister in law’s little addition that will be here in a few months – I enjoy vodka too much to compromise the drinking plans for a child. Give me a few more years of nasty hangovers and maybe I’ll be willing to give that up.

I rounded out the weekend with a little quality time with Claire and Albert – it was fate that I manage to get at their house right when Claire came inside. She heard and saw my car, which led to two hours of just much needed second parent time. I’m what the kids call #blessed to have them both in my life.

The weekend ended on a high note of crafting with brand new pillow cases for the bed.

These are the easiest project ever and so fun to make. What you can’t see really see in this photo is that I used a solid mustard color for the back of these pillow cases. David loved them and we slept like champs last night!

Now for the real reason we are all here, my blogger besties are so encouraging and offer great advice about things that would be great for our blogs. That’s what I love about them because they believe in me at times when I rarely believe in myself. In our massive group text, we talk about a variety of things from our husbands, lack of sleep, goals and of course blog stuff. As a lifestyle blogger, I talk about myself a lot – its fine and dandy, but I want to know more about you lovely Vodka Lovers.

Next Monday, we are kicking off a brand new weekly series:

monday hangover - dallas - link up - vodkamakesyouhappy - dallas bloggers - share - get to know

We all know that Mondays are hard and it’s never easy getting up to go to work, school, or trying to recover from the serious lack of sleep you failed to get over the weekend. Whether it be a blog post, Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter – I want to hear from you! Next week, just stop on by or use the hashtag (#vodkamakesyouhappylinkup) to link up with Ware is the Vodka?!? Monday Hangover.

Hope to see you here, there, and EVERYWHERE!

Another fun fact (maybe I’m the only one who didn’t know this): The Thong Song has the N word so that was an awkward song for me to pick….hahahaha.

    So glad you came out!

OMG! It totally does. I think I remember being caught up on it as well when I was singing it. I choked on that word.

I had a blast! Love you so much girl!

How did we not manage to take any (non-snapchat) pictures at karaoke? #EpicBloggerFail >.<

So excited for The Monday Hangover (had to throw my "the" in there haha). It's perfectly timed with my new blog direction and can't wait to document our crazy weekend shenanigans going forward!
