Adulthood Tips, Goal Setting

Goal Digger at 30

Hey there!

Freshly minted 30 year old babe here and ready to spice up life. My 30th birthday was more than I could ever imagine, which included being surrounded by the greatest friends and family a woman could ask for. Now that the big thirty is here, I’ve set a few goals to get me through my life over the next decade of life. Not only that, but I’ve also compiled a few positive outlooks to go into this decade with to share with you lovely people!

Let’s start with my goals:

Bullet Journaling @seviXware

It’s all the rage right now and I really wanted to do something different from my traditional journaling. After months of research, I finally decided that this would be the ideal method for me to document different aspects of my life in a creative way. I’m sharing my journey on Instagram, so be sure that you follow my bullet journal.

Trip a year until my 40th birthday

David and I aren’t getting any younger, so we have talked at length about getting out to experience life together more. Over these last two years, I’ve gone on trips without him and we haven’t really taken the time to explore together. For the next 10 years, we’re going to attempt to take a trip every year. It doesn’t have to be anything big, just something that we both make a conscious effort to remove ourselves from the daily grind of life to just spend some time together.

Invest more of my personal time into causes I believe in

Over the years, I’ve slowly gotten into going to events of interests to gather information about different causes that spark. I’ve come to the conclusion that I want to volunteer more of my time to causes that really matter to me. I want to give back within my community and really make an honest effort to make a difference in the world. It makes me happy when I can see the work that I’ve put into the things that I’m passionate about.

As I embark on this new decade of life, I’ve come up with 3 positive outlooks that I believe any millennial these days can really relate to being a main focal point in improving their life.

Focus on possibilities

We get so caught up in our day to day grind, that we never really take a long hard look at the possibilities right at the tip of our fingers. Allow yourself a chance to focus on the possibilities that you’ve always wanted to tackle – big or small. Focus on these possibilities, because you never know what opportunities they may bring your way.

Be open and consistent

Transparency is so important in our lives. Be open and consistent with yourself in every aspect of your life. Don’t shy away from your feelings, speak your mind, and always put your best foot forward. By demonstrating this outlook, you are setting yourself in a trustworthy position deserving the respect of your opinion and love.

Know and understand that you do make an impact

This is probably one of the most important outlooks that we need to pay more attention in our lives. YOU DO MAKE AN IMPACT. Quite often we tend to forget about all the little things we do that impact a variety of people we touch every day. Whether it’s a simple text to a friend, smiling at a stranger, or holding the door open for someone – you never know what type of profound impact any simple gesture makes. Mahatma Gandhi said it best,”be the change that you wish to see in the world.” Make your impact each and every day – know that it is more than enough.

So here’s to 30. A new decade of adventure, love, and growing into an even better version of myself!
