My blog tagline says it all: Crime fighter by day, Vodka drinker by night. I am an ambitious and driven woman that is always on the go. From the time I mentioned that eventually I would like to work in the Criminal Justice field without having to become a sworn officer – the naysayers were there.
How do you do that?
Eventually you’ll have to become an officer.
You’re too happy to do that.
It’ll burn you out so fast.
All of these comments and more made me push even harder to reach the goals I set for myself. I can happily report that I’m employed in the Criminal Justice field (and making a difference every day). Naturally, I am drawn to like minded individuals who make more of their lives than just sitting dreaming about life happening. Which is why the feature for this Thursday Threads is so important to me.
Nadia Martinez is the founder and owner of Kallie Shoes, a company that she started in the laundry room of her home. Besides those fabulous titles she’s also a supportive United States Marine Corps wife and a mother of two beautiful little girls. Needless to say, she has her hands full.
As a former military wife, I understand the need to have something of your own – especially when life can change in the blink of an eye. For Nadia, that hasn’t swayed her drive and ambition to be epitome of a #girlboss. Kallie Shoes is a unique footwear brand for women that are hand crafted and vegan (PETA approved). Their mission is simple – “to provide comfortable and affordable shoes that never sacrifice style.”
I was thrilled when Nadia offered to send little ol’ me a pair of shoes and couldn’t wait to get my
little big feet in them. For the last month and a half, I’ve been wearing the Merediths to work and out on the weekends for play. You better believe I’ve broken them in good and have a full review for you!
I am a woman on the run all day every day. My work day consists of more than pulling reports, if my detectives ever need any additional help with cases that are taking up extra time – yours truly answers the call. I need reliable shoes that are going to carry me through the day without my feet screaming at me for wearing them. Never in my life did I think I would come to love a denim flat, as much as I love the Merediths.
At first I was hesitant about receiving a denim flat, but David told me that I could easily find way to make it work in my closet. He was right and I hate admitting that he was right! A vast majority of my wardrobe was graced with a chance to seamlessly flow with these denim ballet flats, but my favorite were these Old Navy soft pant (out of stock, sorry). The entire outfit is professional enough to wear to work, but comfortable for going straight to happy hour. The beauty of these shoes is that by the time I leave work, my feet aren’t screaming at me to sit down and take it easy. The quality in the shoe is apparent from the moment you put them on. They are made to last, while making you feel good.

I’m sure you are probably tired of me talking about how fantastic these shoes are, but I just have a bit more to share with you. Nadia and Kallie Shoes are heavily influenced “by humanitarian and philanthropic causes, Kallie Shoes donates 10% of its profits to the Semper Fi Fund.”

Let’s not forget, it’s Thursday!!!!!!
Are you linking up with Valery Brennan and Thursday Threads?! Be sure to leave a comment so I can check out your blog!
P.S. One more thing, if you don’t have enough incentive to go and buy a pair of shoes. As of January 2015, for every pair of shoes sold, Kallie Shoes will donate a FREE pair of flats or sandals to a woman in need in shelters across the United States.
