Small Business Saturday Round Up

There’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday where everyone is on the hunt for the best deals, but smack dab between both of those is Small Business Saturday.

Small Business Saturday is an initiative for everyone to ditch the big retailers and shop local. Whether it be your favorite bakery, neat thrift shop, hip record store, or maybe even a little pink house with more than you could ever imagine – it’s an opportunity to shop and support your favorite local businesses.

Local Small Businesses

Joy Macarons | 839 West Davis Street |

Liz dreamed of this little shop to accomplish one thing, bring JOY into our lives with these sweet decadent pastries. Joy Macarons is no longer a hidden gem nestled in the Bishop Arts District. Liz and her dream team have made Joy into the place that you want to venture and hang out for a while. The unique flavors of macarons that you encounter with each visit is sure to blow you mind. Oh and don’t let this cold weather stop you from trying out their life changing macaron ice cream sandwiches.

Bullzerk | 1909 Greenville Avenue |

If you are a proud Dallasite or a diehard Texan, Bullzerk needs to be your place tomorrow. With the wittiest sayings that scream Dallas and the perfect shirt to proclaim your Texas pride, Bullzerk is the local place to shop. Don’t believe me, check out their Instafeed for a few laughs! I bet you’ll convince yourself that you need at least one of their shirts. Bet.

Josey Records | 2821 Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway #100 |

CDs are cool, but vinyl is in. The age of the record has sneakily creeped back upon us and the record stores are revived. I was surprised to learn that this little gem is right around the corner from my home and is quite the place to go and shop for records. Whether you are looking for today’s hottest artists or just the originators of soulful music, Josey Records aims to please every music lover. Dust off your record player, head to Josey Records, and grab some fresh tunes – the party is ready to happen with the revival of the vinyl.

Set & Co. | 841 West Davis Street |

After your trip to Joy Macarons, pop on in to Set & Co. to experience the grandest of household wares. From brass cutlery, marble patterned dining plates, and the most divine olive oils I’ve ever found in Dallas this is a small business that needs to be shared. Set & Co. is the perfect place to shop for those hard to buy for people, the ones who have everything. I’ll put money on it that you can find a unique gift for them at Set & Co. – so make it happen!

The Vintage House | 1101 East Belt Line Road |

Do I even need to discuss why you should already be shopping at the Vintage House? From Swell Bottles, Alex & Ani, Kendra Scott, Vera Bradley, and much more….I can guarantee that you will find something for everyone. The Vintage House has a variety of gifts, the best customer service, and FREE GIFT WRAPPING! You don’t even need to make a list when shopping at here, because with all of their products you are bound to find something that will suit a person perfectly.

And just because its Small Business Saturday and I want to spread the love, be sure to check out just a few of my favorite online stores. I am lucky enough to personal know all of these businesses and can vouch that they are quality products that you will love.

Online Small Businesses

With Love From Rigby | These Gatsby inspired headbands are perfect for weddings, Halloween, themed parties, or just wearing for a fun night out. I own quite a few of these headbands and always get compliments when I wear them. They are sparkly and make you feel like spinning every time you wear one.

Ven & Rose | What I love about Ven & Rose is what these products stand for. Ven & Rose is all about celebrating positivity, inspiration and uplifting messages through lifestyle apparel and accessories. In a world where we constantly are battling with different test of our faith, it is refreshing to see a company that is displaying it front and center. And if you are wondering, I’ve got my eye on the Purpose is Beautiful crewneck sweatshirt.

Adorned by Chi | I was lucky enough to get a fancy little surprise from Adorned by Chi (check me out here) before the grand opening of this online store. If you are a girly girly and a little quirky, this is the shop for you! All of these whimsical items are bound to put a smile on your face whenever you put them on and make you want to find a unicorn to run around in fields with. From headbands, t-shirts, fun purses, and more – you are bound to find something that will make you smile in this shop.

BarrisTourista Travel Store | If this sounds familiar, it’s because we just had a giveaway on the blog for a wonderful travel prize package of goodies from the BarrisTourista travel store. I highly recommend that you head over to the travel store and stock up on a few new luggage tags, a passport holder, and a handy tote. 2016 is the year to travel and see the world – so do it in style. These travel items are quality made and stylish to carry around. Equip yourself for your year of fun with these sure to turn head items.

Kallie Shoes | These shoes are everything. I mean that! If you need a reason to buy them, check out my review of a cute pair of ballet flats that I wear all the time here. Nadia’s business continues to grow and flourish, because of her hard work and the quality of her products. I highly encourage you to check out Kallie Shoes and if you see something you like purchase them! Nadia and Kallie Shoes are heavily influenced “by humanitarian and philanthropic causes, Kallie Shoes donates 10% of its profits to the Semper Fi Fund.” So not only are you supporting a small business, you are helping the Semper Fi Fund.

So there you have it! Five fabulous places in Dallas and online to shop for Small Business Saturday. Support your local (and online) small business owners, they work so hard to stock up the goodies that we all love and want. Shop away!

Disclaimer: A few of these are not participating in the American Express® Small Business Saturday, but I firmly believe that we should give back to the community in any and every way. Hence why I’ve included my favorite small businesses on this list.
