Steak, It’s Whats For Dinner!

The best part about being a blogger is meeting other bloggers and sharing the experiences of this wild blogging world. An opportunity came up where I could represent Dallas Food Nerd at a Media Event at Dallas Chop House. If you know me, I’m a huge purveyor of brunch – but I never pass up a chance for good food. Elysa of Dallas Food Nerd and GenPink put the word out for a blogger to head out to Dallas Chop House in her place, I took that chance.

I am not a food blogger, like I’m not a fashion blogger. BUT I could be a food blogger, unlike my abilities for be a fashion blogger. You see, I LOVE to eat and it’s a good thing I’m about to get back in the gym because I could totally do this type of deal again.

First off, Dallas Chop House did a phenomenal job with the spread they provided for us to sample before their grand reopening tomorrow. I won’t got into much because my post will be on the Dallas Food Nerd website, but let’s just say that if you have never been to Dallas Chop House…go NOW.

It was delicious and I had dreams of the delicious foods I ate.

Course 1 – ‘Bacon and Eggs’ – Grilled Berkshire Pork Belly, Smoked Egg Emulsion, Mape Pink Peppercorn Gastrique

**TOP DISH** Course 2 – Roasted Baby Beet Salad – Watercress, TX Goat Cheese, Pistachio Brittle, Blood Orange, Sherry-Caraway Vinaigrette

Course 3 – Sea Scallops – Curry Sweet Potato Puree, Hearts of Plam, Baby Bok Choy, Chile-Pineapple Salsa

**TOP DISH** Course 4 – Red Wine Braised Shortribs – Vanilla-Parsnip Puree, Smoked Tomato-Horseradish Vinaigrette

Akaushi Wagyu NY Strip, 21 and 60 day dry aged rib eye, herb roasted bone marrow, bacon-onion jam, parsley-pickled shallot salad, cilantro chimmichurri, Himalayan salt

The evening was amazing and I definitely appreciated the fact that I was able to get a few moments with the Executive Chef Chad Starling. He had a Southern twang that I couldn’t quite pinpoint (and I’m usually really good at pinpointing my Southern accents). Next thing you know we’re talking about Tennessee, soul food, and his excitement to be back in his kitchen whipping up these delicious dishes.

So do me a favor and make your way to Dallas Chop House – you won’t regret it.
