StepFAIL Wife

I get home from work yesterday on a mission to whip up a hot meal in a decent amount of time so that I could manage to get to bed a lot earlier than I’ve been doing. My schedule isn’t that 9 to 5, more like 7 to 3 – which leaves me plenty of time to pull things together for a decent evening of setting things straight.

Upon getting home, my loving husband had already pre cooked the chicken for our stir fry meal in the crock pot. This was an added bonus to my prep, until I realized that I was missing some key ingredients to make this mean a success. Off to Tom Thumb I ran around 4:15PM to pick up those last minute things I needed. I guess everyone else go the memo because by the time I grabbed my few items, the Express Lane started to push that point where people with more than 15 items started making their way to it.

I braved the elements and went to a regular lane with no issues – except the impulse purchase of D Magazine. What can I say, I’m a softie for this grand ol’ city!

Finally, I’m ready to rock and roll! I pulled out the nifty Trader Joe’s Asian Stir Fry veggie mix, large skillet, and snap chatted my way through making dinner.

As I waited for the brown rice to simmer for consumption, I figured I would get a few things finished around the house. That didn’t go far as I started watching a few shows on my DVR, opened my front door to enjoy the beautiful weather, and prepping a few blogs for later this week.

Once the rice was finished, dinner was served beautiful for one. Then I proceeded to pack lunch for both myself and David for tomorrow. The kicker, ALL BEFORE 7:00PM!

You’re probably wondering where the fail is coming in. Well, this blog is being written at 10:55PM. I’m not sure where those last few hours went, but its an epic fail on my part. Forgive me if I look rough in my snaps tomorrow, you are forewarned that the struggle is real.

Has time ever gotten away from you? How do you manage it?

Time has gotten away from me WAY too often. It’s natural. I’m more of a morning person though, so when it hits 3pm I throw my hands up and panic. “I DONT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO DO ANYTHING NOW!”

(Btw, this is my very first comment)

Brittany, I am definitely more of a night person. So functioning that late works for me, but I seriously pay for it the morning after.

Oh and thank you so much for visiting the blog 🙂

It was such a quick fix and so good. David gave me lots of kudos for knocking this meal out of the ball park!

Time gets away from me every day! More so when I am in my craft room. I swear that there is a time vortex in there. I go in just to do one project and end up spending half a day there. Go figure! lol

Mmmmmm that meal looks absolutely delicious!!! 🙂

And I most DEFINITELY know how the hours tend to run away and all of a sudden it’s super late! I think the hours seem to run away three times as fast now that I have a baby! I get up to feed her around 5 or 6 and then the next thing I know it’s noon and I feel like we haven’t accomplished anything!!! lol It’s crazy!
