Do It Yourself

This is NOT like HGTV!

First off, what were we thinking?!? UGH! OMG! WHY?!?

Ok, got that off my chest. The house is coming along fantastically and our move in arrived too fast. Flooring is down and the difference within the house is dramatically approved.

Since these pictures have been taken, the ceilings and most rooms have been repainted, the new laundry room is nearly completed, and we have moved in most of our furniture.

The dogs will be living in heaven, because the new fence in the backyard is amazing! David and his dad did a great job tearing down and building that back up. Its fantastic and totally makes for a refreshing view when you drive down our alley.

This will probably be the last update on the house until we are all unpacked and have everything set up. This week will be a lot of just working and packing for Mexico. We’ll be gone for an entire week, so we will not be unpacking the house this week. It just wouldn’t make any sense to bother.

10455407_333376570151672_4531455858565860879_nLast night was our last night at our old house and it was surreal. To think for the last 4 years we have grown so much and created so many memories at this house. It’s exciting to start a new chapter in our journey.

I cannot put into words what these past 4 years have meant to me, but I have the most perfect quote to sum them up…

“Never make your home in a place. Make a home for yourself inside your own head. You’ll find what you need to furnish it – memory, friends you can trust, love of learning, and other such things. That way it will go with you wherever you journey.” –Tad Williams

Here is to our next chapter, new memories, lots of theme parties, and happiness!
