True Life: I’m a Grad Student

Screen Shot 2013-06-16 at 10.07.08 PMMy life has been consumed with CJ 565 Offender Reentry for the last 4 weeks. I have been slaving over discussion boards, a research paper, and a PowerPoint to present that paper.

Currently, I am sitting in my sewing room, waiting for the PowerPoint to load up (for the second time) to VoiceThread to present it to my classmates. About halfway through knocking out the presentation part, I realized I had a spelling error on one of my slides. HOW THE HELL DO YOU SPELL SOMETHING WRONG?!? Boding instead of bonding!

I am starting over from scratch now. Going to give this another shot, because it has to be uploaded by tomorrow evening 11:00PM CST.

I’m not usually much of a talker about this grad school thing. I figured I would go ahead and do it for the higher education piece – it’s definitely not my crowning moment in life (that would be when I finished my first quilt). It definitely won’t make me famous (this blog will). It’ll be nice to have another expensive piece of paper in my house, mocking my existence with this foolery I am having to deal with because of ONE STUPID SPELLING ERROR.

Thanks Microsoft PowerPoint, because I was totally going to get my point across with Federal Boding Program for former incarcerated offenders.

I knew you were in grad school, but I didn’t know you were interested in the prison system! Or maybe you’re interested in it only for this class 😛 I’m writing my MA thesis on education in the juvenile justice system, I bet we would have one heck of a conversation over coffee! 🙂

Hannah, that is awesome! I am actually getting my Masters in Criminology and debating on getting my Doctorate in the same field. By all means, please feel free to Skype me and we can discuss. Juvenile justice is where I would like to actually go into.
