Do It Yourself

Vodka Goes Better with Mint(ed)

As most of you know, David and I have been hard at work remodeling our house. There was a few months that we would literally spend any spare time we had to finish one project or another in our new home. Since the big things have been wrapped up, we were able to host our annual New Years Eve party and my friends were kind enough to shower us with compliments on how welcoming and warm our home was.

I have the best group of a friends a girl can ask for, thanks for being so nice! I was paranoid that because our guest bathroom wasn’t completely finished and we still have some small projects to tackle that it would be a mess. All in all, it worked out perfectly for our big shindig! As you know the fun ended and we were back to our daily routine of “what’s the next project?”

Since a vast majority of the big things have been completed, I can really start focusing on the even bigger task of decorating our home. From our old space, we more than double the square footage and I needed a change. The personality that David and I have is very funky and eclectic which is why we work so well together. He knows that sometimes, I just need him to allow my creative juices to flow and to trust me on my vision.

Case in point: our beautiful gallery wall in our living room.

There may have been some stabs taken about how someone (David) thought this wall would look cluttered….now he loves it.

We’ve started moving along to the other parts of our house with ease after that small battle was won. I’ve been looking on the hunt at thrift stores, home décor stores, and/or Etsy for a variety of different things to make our home even more welcoming.

The problem is, we have so much wall space left in our house to cover and I have been on the hunt for something new and intriguing. That’s when Minted came to the rescue! Just go with me on this, because Minted has definitely branched out from your typical Save the Dates, Baby Announcements, and Holiday Cards. They have a unique line of art prints and wall art that appeals to a variety of different styles. I’ve already started dreaming up which pieces I must have from their art or map collection.

Abstract Muted 3 Texas Map Filled Kaleidoscope No.1

Talk about swoon-worthy! I have already started convincing David we need to start the build on our custom headboard and floating shelves, so we can put a new piece or two in our bedroom. Whether you are looking for a gift for a friend or decorations for your home. Minted just stepped up their game!

Check out their website and let me know what piece you would love to decorate your home?!?

    Hey Love!

I dig the home – GREAT STUFF! I saw your spool of threads and yarns picture which inspired me to look on pinterest and search: “YARN WALL ART”

You should check it out! I loved the large letters and designs with pins/nails while adding crisscrossing strings – maybe you can make it a yarn party (like a painting party) for everyone to contribute…
