Do It Yourself

Ware Remodeling – Kitchen Update

If you are just joining the party, we bought a house about 2 months ago. The move was super fast and we haven’t had much down time for anything else (even though I do try to squeeze fun things in for my own sanity). Upon moving in, we needed to have all the walls painted and prepare for a complete kitchen renovation.

Just to give you some perspective, we were going to try and salvage the kitchen.

Yes, we were going to salvage that. Our original plan was to jazz it up with new flooring, repainting the cabinets and add new hardware, and upgrade the appliances. Upon getting into the house, we found a few issues that couldn’t be ignored (asbestos glue used on the old flooring, water damage in the cabinets, and no room for a standard refrigerator)  and had to make the decision that it would be best to gut the entire kitchen and start with a blank canvas.

David and my father in law went to work on every aspect of this kitchen to make it possible. You’ve seen the various updates here and here, but this is the one that you’ve been waiting for.  With just cabinet hardware and light fixture plates needed, the kitchen is complete!

Ooooooohhhhhhhhh! Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh! Don’t mind the dogs, they were just as excited as we were to have the kitchen completed. We have counter top space to prep meals and the fridge is actually in the kitchen instead of our den. The cabinets are starting to be filled with glasses, bowls, and plates. Appliances not used as frequently as stowed away until needed, not just placed on top of the fridge as we did in our previous house.

The best part about it all is the beautiful dishwasher that we finally hooked up! In our old house, we did not have a dishwasher and the struggle was real. You best believe we already broke that bad boy in and rejoiced in the sweet blessing of not having to scrub another cup out by hand.

This kitchen is my new oasis, so if you know how to cook a mean meal by all means hit me up for my address. You’re more than welcome to come test run this beautiful slice of renovation heaven!

I LOOOOOVE to cook, and I’m not shy about tooting my own horn as to my culinary skillzzz!! I just might have to come visit and make you a delicious meal. I will make the same deal with you that I make with anyone who wants me to cook for them… you buy the ingredients, I’ll make whatever you wish! I make a mean chicken enchilada!
