Do It Yourself

Ware Remodeling – Thrifting & Den Update

Remember when we bought a house and started remodeling it?

Yeah, that is still going on and will continue going on until the end of time. Just when you think one project is ending, another always seems to creep up on you. We’ve been working hard to lighten the back living area (den) from the previous dark and somber appearance to a welcoming space for crafting and mingling.

Den Remodel

Our amazing den!

We can finally start unpacking this room! This area has taken on new life with the brighter walls, especially against the built-ins. Everything about the lighter wood panels makes me so happy and excited to set up my sewing and office area. What I love the most is the character that this room has with the exposed brick. The feeling is so comfy and inviting – it makes you want to get creative or cozy. I can’t wait to share how this room continues to come along. In addition to the den, I’ve been on the prowl thrifting and piecing together the house. On a whim, I dropped into my favorite thrift store and managed to snag another great chair for the living room. It definitely adds to the room!

The piece that completes the room was given to me for my birthday from my dear friend Valery. She came across the orange trapezoid chest at HomeGoods and it is one of the most thoughtful and practical gifts ever. I mean check out how well it fits next to that thrifted chair!

Another addition to the house is the great bamboo ladder that was given to me by some sweet co-workers that needed to get rid of it. For once, I didn’t feel bad taking something home without letting David know because I had a plan for it.

Yup, perfect.

Those are my updates on the house! I am so excited to share some of the other updates we’ll be making over the next few weeks and getting back into my crafting groove since I can start setting up my craft room. Any projects on your plate? I’ve already started thinking of a cute Halloween craft I want to have completed before October 31st!
