Do It Yourself

Ware Remodeling!

So much progress is being made! The biggest challenge is finding enough hours in the day to get everything completed. The two major renovations that are going on right now are the living room and kitchen. I’ll just repeat that SO MUCH PROGRESS IS BEING MADE!

Let’s start with our living room –

It’s really starting to come together in the best of ways. David is a sweetheart, but he didn’t do the greatest job with his before pictures. They are a little (a lot) blurry, but they give you an idea of how far we’ve come in the living room. The walls and crown molding have been painted, and now we are moving over to the trim touch up.

That start to my gallery wall was a challenge, because David just couldn’t see the vision of where I was going. He made the comment that it was looking a little “cluttered.”

Men.

After we put everything up and in its rightful place, do you want to know how many compliments I’ve received from my loving husband?!? A ton! He loves the damn wall and can’t stop talking about how nice it looks. Oh and let’s not even get into my awesome little reading/sitting area. He didn’t see the vision of my awesome vintage chairs, until it all came together.

Now the kitchen was an entirely different story, because for a short time we were under the impression that we would be able to salvage some of the kitchen. Turns out we had a tad bit of water damage in some of the cabinets – to make a long story short, we ended up having to redo the entire kitchen.

Brace yourselves, because this was the before:

Do you see how bad that is?!? We were willing to make it work out. Let’s not waste any time, here are the after photos (so far):

I mean how fantastic is that coming along and a much needed improvement to what we were willing to work with. David and his dad have been hard at work; there is no stopping them. This weekend the cabinets and appliances should be set into place.

I am so happy with the progress and where it’s going. Besides all of the remodeling, I’ve been attempting to keep my head clear with an array of different activities. I plan on sharing them over the next few days, along with more house updates!
