Have I mentioned enough that life has been a whirlwind?!? If I’m not at work, I’m at home working on the house. If I’m not at the house, I’m at my 9:00-5:00. And if I’m not at the house or at work, I’m hopefully somewhere drinking a large amount of vodka, tequila, or another alcoholic beverage to get me through these long days. Even though, I do not have enough hours in my day – I am always able to make time for the ones I simply adore.
This is a little late, but I was giving the blessing from the blushing bride to share about her wonderful wedded bliss. Last Sunday, I had the pleasure of attending the most impromptu wedding for one of the sweetest women ever.
I couldn’t tell you how long I’ve known Ashley because once you become apart of the McCormick/Robinson extended extended family, time just slips away from you. Everyone just seems to remember that you’ve been there for years and you belong. There is nothing wrong with that because this extended extended family is great! When Ashley proclaimed on a Wednesday that her and Hans had decided they would get married and it would be on a Sunday, I knew I would be there.
After coordinating their nearest and dearest friends that could make the last minute arrangements, we stood at Klyde Warren Park witnessing Ashley and Hans profess their love for each other.
Simplicity is what made this wedding more magical than everything. For a split second, it didn’t matter who showed up and who couldn’t make it because love conquered all. Ashley and Hans stared into each other’s eyes with so much love and affection as we all bared witness to the gift they had been bestowed upon each other – love.
I won’t admit if I cried or not – I’ll leave that up to you. I will admit that I that simplicity made the evening. After celebrating, mingling, and eating this hands down was a wedding for my record books. Ashley and Hans already know that I wish them the absolute best and cannot wait to see what the rest of their lives hold for them.
